Whether we should celeberate independence day or not?

Yes. We Should.

Because it shows that despite the ills, despite the socio-economic and other issues (internal and external) we can still celebrate and be jovial and be proud of our Pakistani identity.

Now that isn't to say that we should ignore any single issues. We should treat every day like Independence Day by acting like 1 nation every day; and by solving the issues like one nation.

what I'm saying is lets be sober - problems are not for celebrating, they are for solving - and they will not be solved with patriotic feel good stuff, and it won't be solved by going into denial mode

I agree.

A lot of these problems are already being discussed: on this forum, through social media, on tv, but they're still not getting solved.

What do you think is an appropriate action at this point?
