Major Issues regarding India-Pakistan relations:

Indian complains and disappointments:
  • Pakistan using terrorism as part of foreign policy toward india.
  • Cultivating hate-india sentiments among its public.
  • Even though it acknowledges its national's involvement in mumbai attacks it does not bring the perpetrators to justice
  • Harboring Dawood and other terrorists wanted in India in its territory.
  • Occupying parts of Kashmir even after maharaja signed instrument of accession
  • Having trade blockades for india-specific items even though it signed SAARC free trade agreement
  • Violation of Ceasefire
  • ISI using extremist groups to attack indians and indian assets in afghanistan
  • Having nuclear programs specifically directed at India

and the list goes on.........

Since the Kargil episode India has been the most generous in thinking that the two countries must not be on a collision course and every steps must be taken to ensure that all the outstanding disputes must be resolved peacefully and through dialogue. In spite of the hawkish opposition and growing public anger over the way the manmohan singh government wants to take the relations with pakistan forward. But what are the results we are getting.......next to nil.

infiltration in kashmir continues, terrorist training camps in pakistan administered kashmir remains open, ISI funding of LeT, and other jihadist groups continues, pakistan personalities' continuous rants of evil bararti hindus and indian mindsets etc etc
and what about us, we invite pak PM Gilani to watch cricket match, Nano technology transfer, opening up indian markets for trade(MFN status), offer pakistani artists a job in bollywood, Afridi wanting pak players to be allowed to participate in IPL(BTW i support art and sports be apart from politics), second loudest applause at CWG to pakistani athletes. We have been only verbal about our displeasure with pakistani activities whereas they continued their tasks.

But what about the results we want to see?
Should we change our current approach where actions speak louder than words(not military but diplomatically visible)?
Is pakistan's blackmail of it nuclear capabilities have been over estimated by indian strategic planners?
The most important one.....Does pakistan, its military and its people really want to have a normal relations with india??

To the indians please vote on the poll about your view on what india's approach to pakistan must be in future

. . . .
well, I voted for diplomatic pressure, but would like to have both option, first.. pressurize deplomaticaly as well as Economic strangulation.

.
My suggestion is that India to focus on domestic issues such as education, economy, infrastructures, development, and integration. If you look to the future, then nothing more important than your own growth.

A uti possidetis border based on the current LoC, is it acceptale?
