WHERE ARE YOU MATIULLAH JAN? - HARASSMENT IN A PROTECTION HOUSE

Our national hero Dr. Abdul Qadeer visited Bahrain and addressed the community in the Pakistan Club Bahrain. In my long stay in Bahrain, I witnessed only two occasions the Pakistan Club auditorium over-jam-packed in “graveyard pin drop silence”. First when Dr. Qadeer and then when our scholar Moulana Taqi Usmani addressed in the Pakistan Club. Both times this overcrowding was not just due to presence of Pakistanis, but for presence of Indians, and Bangladeshis also. Dr. Qadeer in his address narrated a joke. That very morning he visited two Pakistani community Schools in Bahrain. One was Pakistan School where the medium was Urdu, and the second one Pakistan Urdu School where the medium is English. Dr. Qadeer said he could not stop his laughter when he visited Pakistan Urdu School and was told contrary to the word “Urdu” in the school name, the medium was English. He enjoyed this joke and made all the audience laugh too.


2. This old memory re-refreshed a few minutes ago surfing my computer when I came across the video March 2018 clip anchor Matiullah Jan interviewing the Federal Ombudsman for protection from harassment of Women at Workplace. Millions saw on screen, if the video is not fake which though appears to be not, showing Ombudsman’s staff, in presence of the Ombudsman herself, trying to overpower the anchor and his accompanying team. It was a big show of harassment but was perhaps the history’s first one that who on expense of we the citizens was assigned to protect against harassment, harassing herself/himself not at any road side but at the same place very sacred workplace where justice against harassment is sought. Question is not of male or female.


3. Matiullah Jan and his channel, as I can remember, lodged a Police case (FIR) registered against it. Actually this was a true case of suo moto, but as the things are in our beloved country, no one from the justice system took note of gravity of the incident, which however did not surprise at all senior citizens like me. However, as is usual with our almost all anchors that they open their big mouths on the screen but on practical side they prove themselves as dump as could be by entering into a secret sort of NRO of sort causing irreversible invisible damage to the soceity.


4. Harassment inside an office which is to protect from harassment, is in itself a dire harassment. Question is not harassment there of a male or female.


5. Our anchors as we understand from their talk on the mini screen “in the evening” are too brave and all of them are afraid of from God and only God none from else. We the ordinary mortals keep hearing from these very brave anchors that “they” were to disclose this and reveal that next. Knowing well the psychology of the common man, like rulers these anchors “innocently” never touch again the matter which they were to reveal, disclose to proceed further.


6. We the ordinary fools heard, then, that Matiullah Jan (his channel) had filed a Police report. We never heard later what happened further to that police report? Matiullah Jan followed that or put under the table under some NRO or otherwise!! As old I am, same big fool I am. Like the foolish silent majority I had for many weeks been waiting that in the season of suo motos, one will sprung up on the serious issue of (seemingly a joking one for the civilized world) a semi judicial type institution established for the protection against harassment in itself was harassing in the same very sacred premises.


7. This old man has a very logical question. Can my daughter, wife or any other family member mentally feel herself “completely safe, fear free” inside such a premises, if had to go for seeking protection?

My observations are as follows:

1- Pakistanis are mostly "Dumb Arses" who are fooled over and over again by these crooked politicians and journalists. If you are bitten over and over again from the same hole, then you are justifiably called "Dumb Arses", period.

2- Pakistani journalists are not really journalists. They are same hoarders like their countrymen, devoid of any sense, devoid of any sense of nationalism. They are running after money and fame. A quick money I add, like every other Pakistani who wants to become a trillionaire overnight, learning from its politicians. Some of them have become trillionaire, but we still don't know how!!

3- Pakistani CJ is a joker, he is following in the footstep of "one-eyed" monster before him. After a legacy and cheap publicity. Nothing he has done proven to be either conclusive or beneficial to the nation. What is the point of such upheaval if you cannot convict one single person of their crime, when nobody implement your decisions!!

4- Pakistan would never change, it has passed the point of no return.

5- Only way is down for Pakistan. If someone like Imran is making fun of in a country, then that country has lot to correct, otherwise extinction is the only outcome, period.
