Coronavirus will severly affect our already fragile economy.

Will our economy collapse because of the severe burden?

What will be our GDP growth?

Yes It Will Hit Us But Eventually Get Back To Normal

Maybe we should have thought about this before we allowed coronavirus to enter Pakistan.

Anyway, Pakistan economy really isn't that fragile unlike what the politicians want you to believe.

220 million people generate a lot of $$$. Once this coronavirus disappears, Pakistan will start earning $$$ and feeding the bellies of politicians like before.

This year the economy will definitely contract rather than grow. The contraction maybe around 4%.

However, let's not panic but pray for everyone's health and be hopeful.

After the 2008 Financial Crises, Pakistan's economy also contracted but it chugged along. But politically the tenure of PM Yusuf Raza Gilani was severely impacted as a result of that crises and same is likely to happen with PM Imran Khan's tenure.

In politics, people forget "crises" very quickly.

Possibly negative growth followed by a rapid recovery.

If Lock Down extends beyond a month we will see a GDP contraction. But Cheap oil with reduced consumption along with decrease in Imports will provide much needed cushion to the GOP. Exports will be hit too but nothing drastic and will bounce back easily once everything settles down. The Recovery will be fast. Sooner we control the epidemic the better.

Unemployment will increase in the short term. Macro Economic indicators will remain stable but FBRs target of 5 trillion Revenue (FBR collected 2.4 Trillion in the first six months of the current fiscal year) will not be achieved due to recent tax breaks as a part of Economic stimulus package. Rupee will bounce back to 154-58 range unless SBP reduces Interest rate again.

Pakistan is agriculture country , and in a such situations , people need to eat a food. if Gov policy focused on our agriculture sector , definately will give big boost in our economy.

not much will happen, all that has stopped is trade in the big cities. Rice, wheat, sugarcane and cotton is still being grown, Trees are still growing fruits, export will be down by 25% but remittances will go up as relatives outside will send more from their savings.

It is going to take a long long time before a "new" normal appears. Life will not be the "same" after a few months though hopefully we might be coping with it better

Depends on how long the lockdown continues. A recession is a possibility, but strong growth will likely follow it as things normalize.

Our growth rate before Corona was 2.4%. With hot money exiting country and lock down we might enter recession.
