What Muslim country is ideologically most similar to Pakistan?

Age of Ideologically based countries is long gone. These are all nation states perusing their economic interests and preserving their territorial integrity. No two countries are similar, unless they are insignificant

.
Pak is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Ranks at 120th. Strictly if Pak was guided by Islam principles this will not be the case. None of the indicators puts Pak in any reasonable good standing. Going by media reports rapes occurrences high in Pak with high incidence of paedophilia. Do not hide behind religion.

Pakistanis trying hard to project a good boy image is a very recent phenomena.

Do you have ANY evidence of facts that support your above claims?

.
And because of them trying to be Western until recently with Erdogan they have openly gay men, and liberal women who support them. Democracy is fine, but Western ideals are not.

I know you are young, but there is no reason to be jealous of Pakistan-Turkish friendship. We are able to have alliances and good relations with many different countries at the same time. Our next greatest allies are Afghanistan (incoming government) and China.

As I said, the Turks are in no way similar to Pakistanis. Our language is most similar to Turkish languages in Central Asia, and structurally similar to Hungarian. We use Persian and Arabic words, but we are not even aware. Although we could not agree at all with the Iranians in this forum, I saw a lot of Turkish speaking when I went two years ago in Tehran as a tourist and genotypes resembled relatively more to Turkey's geography, perhaps Azeri blood ties with Turkey is because they are but the main was hygiene issues I wanted to come. Turkey is an emphasis on cleanliness is a Muslim country, no matter what city, but as far as I watch the Pakistan travel videos until they are needed much less attention to hygiene for standart Turkih People. If you bring a left-wing Istanbul man to Pakistan, it can be folded at a certain time, but if you bring an Islamic Anatolian person to Pakistan that you think you can understand much better, you will not find the optimism you are looking for in terms of hygiene and culture. Iran, on the other hand, pays more attention to trains and vehicles, although their cities are old. When referring to the similarities, you should also consider these, I was not malicious when comparing my Pakistani friends to Afghans and Indians.
When a Turkish person sees Arab clothes, his mood falls, even if he is not considered racist. In general, the only difference between an Indonesian headscarved old woman and a Turkish woman in Anatolia is slanted eyes, but Pakistani are a little different. People who have seen 2 countries can deserve this, a beautiful topic, people can be informed.

So basically you know absolutely nothing about Pakistan but lies and stereotypes.

To break your lies, you would only have to see that every visitor to Pakistan enjoys their stay and the hospitality of Pakistanis.

I would say Ironically it's India.
India was made as a country for Hindus and Pakistan for the muslims.
They are like 2 sides of the same coin. Only difference is religion. Both countries use religion as primary means of uniting the dozens of ethnic groups and languages within it's borders.

If you are asking for a purely Islamic country then I can't think of one. Most Islamic countries are based on ethnic cultural identity.

More propaganda. Absolutely dishonest and false statement.

Most Muslim countries use religion as a major factor in uniting their people, it is not exclusive to Pakistan.

Looks like I missed a lot while I was gone.

Between Turkey and Arab countries, I don’t think either is that similar to Pakistan. Turkey is more similar to Europe and Arab countries are really their own unique culture. I could never understand what Arab culture is about, because Arab countries have this weird ideology about being Islamic but promoting secularism and monarchy. And Arab countries have always liked collective Pan-Arabism instead of nationalism. Arab countries also rely too much on US for security than using their own army. Afghanistan is more similar to Pakistan than either Turkey or Arab countries but walking in Kabul does not feel similar to walking in Lahore or Karachi because 19 years of war has changed so much about Afghanistan.

I would say Iran is probably the closest to Pakistan. There are too many similarities between Pakistan and Iran to list:

Parliament System
Proudly Islamic
Strong Military
Powerful enemies
Very nationalistic
Ethnically Diverse
Culturally conservative
Liberal youth gen
Economic challenges
Disliked by west
Nukes (Maybe?)
Nastaliq writing

I don’t think there is any other country besides Iran that has that many things in common with Pakistan.

There are some differences.

Driving left vs right
Population difference
Poverty, health, literacy
Sanctions and Isolation
Economic Development
Oil Exports and Industry
Revolution and History
Sunni vs Shia traditions
Food, Dress, Holidays

In spite of these differences, Pakistan will eventually improve its literacy and health, Iran is starting to diversify its economy away from oil. Pakistan will have a better economy and less poverty like Iran today. Iran may one day get nukes or get rid of sanctions like Pakistan today.

I think over time, Pakistan and Iran will become more similar to each other in many ways as time goes on. They can learn a lot from each other.

I don’t think there is any country that feels more similar to Pakistan than Iran ideologically, socially, and physically. There are some places in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz that feel similar when you walk through them and remind you of familiar places and a shared heritage.

Margalla Hills vs the Alborz Mountains
Arabian Sea vs the Caspian Sea
Nanga Parbat vs Mount Damavand
Makran Coast vs Persian Gulf
Walled City vs Naqsh-e-Jahan
Lahore Fort vs Qeysarie Gate
Badshahi Mosque vs Shah Mosque
Minaret-e-Pakistan vs Azadi Tower
Liberty Chowk vs Enghelab Square
Jinnah Avenue vs Navvab Expwy
Mazar-e-Quaid vs Behest-e-Zahra
Daman-e-Koh vs Baam-e-Tehran
Shakarparian vs Niavaran Park
Shalimar Bagh vs Baq-e-Eram
Mazar-e-Iqbal vs Hafeziah
Anarkali vs Bazar-e-Bozorg
Hiran Minar vs Khaju Bridge
Khyber Pass vs Quran Gate
Mohenjodaro vs Persepolis
Rukni-e-Alam vs Soltaniyeh
Sehra Kharan vs Dasht-e-Kavir
Sheesh Mahal vs Golestan Palace
Khalpu Fort vs Sa'dabad Complex
Takht-e-Bahi vs Takht-e-Jamshid
Darawar Fort vs Arg-e-Karimkhan
Wazir Khan Mosque vs Nasir-ul-Mulk
Tomb of Jahangir vs Tomb of Ferdowsi

It is a shame Iranians have been doing everything they can to burn bridges with us and to hurt our country.

IMO Pakistan has no historic ties with Turkey as modern Turkey is much older.

Pakistan is 7,000+ years old. Can any other culture claim the valuable ancient heritage which Pakistan has? Indus River Valley Civilization.

4 pages have been discussed but nobody has yet mentioned Sufism. Historical perspectives
.ve also been missed.

This is the biggest similarity. Both countries are Sunni Hanafi Mazhab with a strong emphasis on Sufism. Our history is littered with Ghazis, Islamic warriors who spread Islam in this part of the world, and furthermore qe became Muslim due to the preaching of Islamic scholars, whom we call pirs.

Lol, no. They are too Secular in general. Ever been to Turkey Major Keyboard Jihadi ?

However, Off topic, Turks are quite friendly and non racist

This is an unfair escalation. No matter differences, we need to put Pakistan first.

They have an ethnical history though with which they can connect strongly. Ours, it only goes back to the subcontinent, and we don't adore it because we don't want to be associated with Indians. It doesn't matter though. We're building a legacy now, and that's all that matters. A 100 years from now, this moment will be their proud history.

We are also an ethnic state, although our Islamic identity takes priority. This is why it is not easy to gain citizenship if you do not have blood ties to Pakistan.

Hope you see my post with clear lens.

Yes, Turks are our allies and our history is nothing short of brotherhood, But the topic discussed here is about SIMILARITY OF IDEOLOGIES

We don’t share ideologies and Republic Of Turkey is officially secular regardless of what The history was being under Islamic Caliphate.

So I was clear to the point.

We may have differences but we must respect our countrymen. In the end, Pakistanis have none but each other.

Meanwhile Pakistan is a Multi ethnic country with dozens of Spoken Languages. Pakistan's Ideology is based on Islam and I dont think there is any country with similar ideological bases. Pakistan ethno-religious makeup makes Pakistan a lot more complicated. ...
Both are quite different countries with different set of problems and challenges due to their Enthno-religious Composition and Geography.

Yes, there is no other country like Pakistan. Turkey is FAR from Pakistan ideologically. A lot of them are wanna-be Europeans and I don't hold that against them. Better be a liberal-oriented European country than be like an Iran or a KSA.

Pakistan was and should remain a Sufi oriented Islamic country. Pakistan doesn't need to go to the extremes of Ata Turk's Turkey nor to Iran or KSA brands of Islam.

What is sufi orientation?
Care to shed some light on this ? Curious about it

@Mangus Ortus Novem

Dont underestimate Turkey Islamic ideology as their nation has been ruled by Islamist party since early 2000. Turkey has become so liberal due to Ataturk influence that force secularism into Turkish politics and society since WW2. The Islamist has been purged since then but is able to control the nation after the year 2000. Their Islamist part believe highly with Ummah concept, this is why they support Islamist GNA government and Islamist rebel in Syria.

Turks hate Arabs. How will their Ummah concept work minus the Arabs. Again, they aren't a confused bunch like Pakistanis. They know what they are and are proud of it.
I also like Indonesians alot. Proud of their ancient culture to this day. You can't say the same to them.

Anything opposite of the rigid version of Islam as practiced in places in Saudi Arabia and even Iran! Acceptance of religious minorities, celebrating the diversity and even participating in non-Muslim religious events. Not condemning the Mazar-going culture (Mazar=shrines of notable religious leaders). In essence, practice your faith as you see fit and let me practice mine. And I believe a large part of the Indo-Pak Subcontinent ('Indo-Pak Subcontinent' is the term we were taught growing up in Pakistan!) culture has been a very conservative version of Islam but also a tolerant one. Maybe a lot of you don't know what Pakistan was like before Zia ul Haq's rule changed things for the worse.

.
Also i really don't get why people are aligning us with Turkey. Yes we have historical ties, but they're very different in culture and political outlook. Even their political model is different to ours.

Unfortunately I do not have many friends going to Pakistan, I only had the opportunity to ask 1 person. He said that people behaved well because they were Turkish and Muslim, but he said that the outfit of his people was like arab, he toured all over Asia until last year. When I looked at the travel videos, they also acted well when they learned that Vlogger was Turkish, but he talks about the country's shops, restaurants, and foods are not suitable for Turkish people, I have never been to Pakistan, even if I go because I haven't seen anything worth seeing other than its mountains, I only come for their people.

Within the bounds of Shariah. Opponents of sufism want to make it sounds like a heretic sect, et all the sufi ulema are strict followers and teachers of the shariah in the light of Quran and Hadith. The drums and cannabis is a fringe element.
