What is better for Pakistan?

An Obama Presidency which will continue the draw down of US forces from Afghanistan but the Drone strikes will continue or a Romney Presidency which has a great number of unknowns.

Historically, Republicans have had a more pro-Pakistan positions than Democrats. Not sure how that applies in the post-9/11 world and especially given India ascension into global power status.

Answer: Neither.

There will be a continuity of policies where Pakistan is concerned no matter who is elected.

just because the President is getting changed does not mean that Governments Forign policy will drastically change, When Obama came to power every one was hoping of a immediate pull out of US troops from Afganistan and Iraq, instead we saw increased Drone activity over nations which the US senate considered as hostile and still US gound troops are stationed in Iraq and Afganistan.

Bottom Line - Nothing will change

What's better for Pakistan? Someone who is not corrupt, and is actually competent and capable of leading a country.

Why are we even considering foreign elections for the betterment/future of our country? :what:

BRAVO, BRAVO, well said. I would have never said it better.

Don't think the foreign policy regarding Pakistan would change a great deal even if Romney becomes the president. Also India is not a global power, not yet.

I feel Romney might be little soft for Pakistan, given that his focus is economy and not that much on Security.

Lol..
We've brought ourselves in this situation, that we even have to worry who the U.S. selects as its next President.
Almost sounds as if who our next "stepfather" would be. Hope he doesn't go rough on us and gives us alot of goodies.

Sigh...hoping for better times and elections so that our selfrespect can be restored. :)

Ron Paul would have been ideal but in all honesty, I think Pakistani-Americans and the P.A.C.s in US (for whatever they are worth) should endorse Romney

yes - he hasn't exactly been very receptive to Pakistan either

but at least with Rebublicans, you ''know what you get'' ....more straight forward, you know what's on their mind a bit more.

Obama's a marxist socialist and quite the flip-flopper on many issues.

Abu do you think if Obama gets in again he will be more free from AIPAC influence? But I do agree Pakistan has been better off with Republicans in power

Thats cos real democracy is subverted in America and all political leaders are in awe or scared of AIPAC

Obama's a politican yaar, nothing else. They all come a dime a dozen.

as for AIPAC - well the Jews aren't exactly his biggest fans either. I would imagine nowdays, it's mostly weed-smoking college students and gays who would be rallying in his favour.

Must be a lot of gays lol I thought there were only about 4 million Jews in America

it's generally not my policy to give a damn about politics or these other petty things anywhere outside of PDF -but these elections will be important to follow i think.....

Obama will hopefully not win a second term.....his speech to the ''Muslim world'' was promising in the beginning, but he's actually done everything to LOSE influence everywhere. Important countries like Egypt have seen US influence diminish almost completely. Even US satellite States like Saudi Arabia have a private disdain for Obama simply because they did nothing to ''protect'' Hosni Mubarak.

Pakistan - well, no brainer.

Obama's done a good job at keeping the tails of these poodle indians wagging away. That may be one motivation that in order to have at least some paradigm shift, we should back the Republicans (''we'' meaning those Pakistanis in the position to vote in the US, PAk-PAC, etc. etc.).

Pakistan has never had good relations with the U.S. under the degenerate democratic party which always throw its weight behind the bhartis....remember Bill clinton?
