How do you define a good life?
Are you living it?

If you have a goal or vision and you have a freedom and ability to pursue it than it is a best lifel

.
Ancient Egyptians believe that upon death they would ask you two questions and their answers would determine whether they could continue their journey in the after life :

The first question was, 'Did you bring joy ?'

The second was, 'Did you find joy ?'

My definition of good life is happiness and contentment
If you are not happy and content then no matter what you achieve in life would become useless

. . .
Good life is as arbitrary as a bad life.

Life is life. It just a journey or safaar. It is a transitional phase where you absorb knowledge and experience. What you think is the end may just be the beginning.

. . . . .
Have you seen the movie inception? The wife was at peace with herself living in a dream under a dream.

I did not see the movie so cannot comment.

But women are selfish so probably it did not matter to her if it was a dream or some freud experiment

To be able to know and understand ur ownself ,where u dont need to look towards others to help u build ur esteem. Where even when u are in pain there is an internal mechanism on to address it. And u dont feel the need to ape others manenrisms or style or behaviors nor u feel swept off ur feet in awe of anyone. You are completely close to urself where ur inner sound is able to control ur mind and not let it plunge into gloomy pits in low times.

We need a thread on animal conservatism since all of them are facing Extinction.

I consider a good life where ALL of ur needs are met and u have the luxury to be able to get at least some of ur wants. That is what I would define as a baseline GOOD life...anything more is a further blessing from the almighty.

There are many ppl who r happy/content even though they wouldn't be considered "rich" as per the modern day definitions of income levels and what not
...and on the flip side I personally know my boss at work with whom I work closely who is a millionaire...and yet he doesn't have that happiness/contentment. He is constantly worried about his money/assets, extremely stingy...always trying to get MORE.

There's nothing wrong with ambition and trying to achieve new heights but if it gets to the point of greed then it's not worth it
...then nothing is ever enough and u don't get to enjoy/appreciate what u have.
