What's new

what herbs are available that are good for skin and hair in Pakistan?

. . .
I'm not sure how readily available they are in Pakistan, but Basil and Dandelion are good anti-microbial that help control acne. Lavender is also useful for oily skin and helps to smooth it as well. Neem is a natural astringent which will dry out your skin, but control oils too.

I think Neem grows readily in Pakistan.

Comfrey can help with dry skin, Elderflower for smoothing wrinkles and soothing sunburns, peppermint is an astringent too and sage tightens pores.

Lots of options.

I don't really like ointments or rubs myself, but a good steam might do the trick for you.

Crush almond or apricot seeds and apply it to your face or use apricot oil on hair .

:o:

No thanks. I don't want to break out in a rash.

Allergies:D.

But yeah, those could also help. Might make your skin more oily though.

Guys...

What herbs are available that are good for skin and hair in Karachi or Pakistan?

Any idea regarding that...anyone?

@Zibago @The Sandman @Farah Sohail @Spring Onion @LA se Karachi ....

I do not know about herbs but Onion and garlic juice is good for growing new hair or getting back lost hair and also these blacken the gray hair. (this is applied on scalp not for consuming).

As far as skin is concerned take carrot juice daily and you will find your face glowing like hell.

Cinnamon also does wonders for one's complexion. I'd definitely recommend a good clove and cinnamon tea. Taste great and is good for not just your skin, but other aspects of your person as well. Full of antioxidants and flavor.

Eat lots of sea food for good skin.

I'm not sure how much that actually works. Norwegians eat a lot of sea food, not me personally since I'm a vegetarian, but I think there would be better options to pick before stuffing your face with pickled herring.

Tastes like butt, but this is true. Garlic is a great for hair maintenance.

Amlaa, retha and Sika kai for hairs commonly available in most of the parts of Pakistan and for skin you need fresh fruits and milk.

If I want to parcel these herbs to US...Will I be in need of special certificate from drugs regulatory authority of Pakistan to do so?

Your post is informative just as usual...Still, I have two questions...

1 - Every thing has positive and negative...So, the herbs u mentioned, their benefits....Don't u think they'll have side effects as well?

2 - Basil and Dandelion are good anti-microbial that help control acre. Here, by acre, you mean, body?

Bro very difficult to import from Pakistan in US

Is it because of US custom laws? our our own departments here in Pakistan? I have heard Pakistani government didn't allow henna (in powder form) for parcel/export...

That was a misprint:angel:. I mean acne (I edited it since I noted my error. Do that a lot honestly:partay:). Most herbs help with controlling oil or tightening pores, and both properties help control zits. Anything like apricots or almonds introduce more oils and can help moisturize overly dry skin, but will likely increase the number of zits one has too. Some good, some bad like you said.

Not really for most. If you're allergic to Ragweed then Dandelion will exacerbate that. I can't use anything with almond extract or an almond base since I'm allergic to tree and ground nuts, but by and large the medicinal benefits of the various herbs don't come with too many downsides.

Some might dry out your skin if taken in too high a quantity or make your skin feel tight, or too slimy if used for moisturizing, but that's not a function of the herbs themselves but the amount used.

That said, care does need to be taken with regard to how they're administered. Neem is safe if used externally, or even internally in "certain parts," but it is known to cause nausea if eaten, though it also has ingestible health benefits too and is eaten in the Subcontinent region. Some of the others also have the capability to make you feel ill if used in too high an amount, mostly if ingested. Cinnamon is commonly eaten, but if eaten too much will give you a stomach ache.

Got to be a bit mindful of how you're using them, but if used as directed, they're safe. You aren't going to turn green or anything.
