Always remember small states doesnot have too much resources to fight (that is what armed forces of small and large states knw). If americans help them chinese will help pakistan for retaliation 100% garantee.

Although both countries are mobilizing large number of troops but I think ground warfare won't help India. All we can expect is heavy shelling or air strikes on military posts.
