Ok, so I just had a long talk with an Urdu speaking friend of mine and he said he loves Pakistan and is a Pakistani first but wants a confederation between Pakistan and India. He said he still has relatives in India and considers India his homeland just as Pakistan is his homeland.

I also have many Urdu speaking friends who dont want anything to do with India and are happy being Pakistanis and would do anything for Pakistan.

So I'm confused to hear so many different views from Urdu speakers.

So I would like to hear from Urdu Speakers in this forum, what do they want?

Are you happy being Pakistanis instead of Indians?
Are you happy that your parents/grandparents left India for Pakistan?
What kind of relationship do you want Pakistan and India to have in the future?

I also saw this interview which I found very intersting.

P.S. I wont judge anyone just be honest in what you want for yourselves and Pakistan. Thank you.

What are you talking about? Why are you calling them Mohajirs and Urdu Speaking? The fact that they migrated decades ago make them Pakistani.

I know they are Pakistanis, but we also have a thread here of "what do SINDHIS want" thats a sticky.

I hear many views from different ethnic groups. Urdu speakers are also an ethnic group and curious to hear their thoughts.

.
"Urdu Speaking" is not the proper term for Mohajirs, and they are not an ethnic group.

Most of Pakistan can speak Urdu, btw. So what you are saying doesn't make sense!

So called Mohajirs are just like any other Pakistani! The problem lies with idiots like Altaf that cause problems and division!

As far as India is concerned, there will be no such thing with it! Any Pakistani who says such ludicrous and idiotic things have forgotten the sacrifices of the millions before us. We have nothing to do with India, and there is NO possibility of such a confederation, certainly when they have occupied a part of OUR Pak Sar Zameen (IOK)! Unless India asks us for forgiveness of the crimes they have commited in the past, there can be no forgiveness... Therefore friendship is not gonna happen, and should NOT happen! The whole idea goes against our nation's self-respect!

Our nations self-respect is more important to us than our lives, Insha Allah!

I thought many who sacraficed their lives for Pakistan during partition dont like being called Mohajar so didn't have a term to define them other than Pakistanis, but we also have Pakistanis who are Sindhi, Baloch, Punjabi, Pakhtoon, etc..

My friend's grandparents came from India to Pakistan in 1947, he was giving me his opinion of what he wanted for Pakistan...I didn't agree with him and I argued with him but he said thats what he wanted.

I know they are patriotic Pakistanis like you and me, just wanted to hear from them whose parents/grandparents risked their lives to be part of Pakistan.

May Allah bless them and all Pakistanis. Ameen.

well Urdu speaking people want exactly what the other language speaking people want....that is what i believe however the leadership of the people will go to any length to keep them apart because after all that is where its votes come from dividing and ruling!!!!

.
I am an urdu speaking from Karachi, never even thought once about a confederation between Pakistan and India. We have seperate identities and I am proud to be a Pakistani.

My father was in the army when Pakistan came into being, he was given an option to either stay in India or join the Pakistan army and he opted for Pakistan. From 1947 till the day he moved to Pakistan and till his death in 1997, he never went back to India even for a small visit.

Left everything for Pakistan whatever he had there, never claimed anything against that and you know what he made us proud.

Urdu speaking people are as patriot as any other brother in Pakistan. PAkistan Zindabad.

Well my grandfather moved from Amritsar to Lahore, then later to Karachi. My dad told me that when he was on a train, he had to hide under dead bodies so that the murderous Hindus and Sikhs who were butchering innocent Muslims wouldn't find him (I think he was a teenager at that time)! So all Pakistanis sacrificed a lot for their homeland, and MORONS like Altaf and people like him are only causing problems for us. They side with Indians and try and mislead the youth! Unless we clean ourselves of these VERMIN, progress will be inhibited to a large degree! Right now we need unity, discipline, and faith!

We also must NEVER forget the millions who have attained Shahadath (martyrdom) for this blessed land! Their blood is what makes this land so holy, sacred, and PAK (pure)!

.
My ancestors moved from Afghanistan to Pakistan also they used to be Jew (As my Grandfather told me), my grandfather fought for the British in WW-II (He passed away a couple of months back), my Grandmother personally saw Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
I am a Pushto speaker Lover of Urdu!
I am a Pakistani for LIFE!
P.S Why is the work "P"A"K"I censored cz of the UK thing?

Because of people like altaf our people got their rights
Back in 1970's people used to think as we were martians or something and many urdu speaking people were unable to get jobs even if they were well qualified

Very uniqe family history. My ancestors always lived in Pak-Sar-Zameen but I have lots of respect for those who left everything and risked everything for Pakistan. By the way, when your ancestors left Afghanistan, they didn't have to deal with the violence of partition that we witnessed in our eastern borders...so those who left India had to go through much more than your ancestors....but still nice to have you as a Patriotic Pakistani.

What would you like for Pakistan and for yourself?

And what kind of relations do you want to see between Pakistan and India in the future?

I agree with your urdu speaking friend
I also have many relatives living in India and I don't like people abusing every single Indian in the world
i would like to visit india but that does not mean's that i am less Pakistani
yes many people of my family were also killed during the partition
but i want friendly relations between Pakistan and India

i don't want people to label me as an Indian
many people have called me "sala hindustani" many times :undecided:

ok and what makes you say before that the urdu speaking people didn't have jobs??? WAHEED MURAD was a big hero and he had migrated from india if i am not wrong? and ALTAF came in late 80's under the banner of ZIA-UL-HAQ.....

NAZIA HASSAN,LIQAUAT ALI KHAN,JAVED MIADAD,PARVEEN SHAQIR....they were urdu speaking and had JOBS before your ALTAF BHAI came my friend....

none of my URDU-SPEAKING brothers was ever neglected!!! stop listening to what ALTAF BHAI says he is lying he is making a divide amongst us!!

and one last name i forgot to mention PERVAZ MUSHARRAF...now he is an urdu speaking man who ofcourse got in to the military and rose up the ranks...now if he rose up the ranks meant there was no discrimination against him...was there??

.
one more thing who called you MOHAJIRS??? you yourself...alot of people came over & settled into punjab no one ever called them mohajir....why not...because the answer is simple you called yourself that!!!! your leader needed votes so he started an ETHNIC DIVIDE!!
