As we all know there are many illegal Bangladeshis in our country probably in hundreds of thousands if not millions.Once they enter the country it becomes extremely difficult to identify them as they look like Indians. Many of them manage to get Indian ration cards and other documents by bribing the officials.Governments have come and gone and little has been done to tackle this grave issue. The problem can be solved by just fencing the border but our netas appear incapable of doing so.In that case what should the people of India do?How do we wake our netas up?

Help Bangladesh develop economically. Its a smaller country and like all small countries it will develop at a faster rate. You will probably end up with reverse migration then.

For me increase investment in Bangladesh..it will create lots of jobs there..and also it will increase other countries confidence in investing there..with the rise of jobs in Bangladesh people will stop crossing to our side..because ,its better to have a job in home than going to other places for job..

Just fencing the border wont solve an issue because creative Bengladeshis will find other ways to sneak in. If a few Pakistans can do it via Karachi with a kidnapped boat and GPS then dont underestimate the Bengladeshis. The best way to encounter this problem would be to strengthen your own border control personals. Put a reward on every illegal Bengladeshi caught in attempt to cross border. And implement biometric ration cards with family history

This neatly points where the source of encouragement exisits.

First create enough jobs for your own country men who are roaching other peoples right world wide at 1/3 pay and probably 1/6 quality.

What u r saying is right. But this is a long term solution. In the mean while people will continue to enter India from Bangladesh. The basic problem is that we too have millions of poor and the illegals are actually a burden.

They sneak into India through the international border. If it gets fenced then movement will decline sharply.

Rich words coming from a man who resides in Saudi ..get a life dude..we can take care of ourselves..already Indians are investing in countries around the world..by creating job in Bangladesh both Indian public and companies are benefiting..people will get the jobs currently occupied by the Bangladeshis and companies will get products at cheaper rates...

Unfortunately dear there is no shortcuts ..we can stop illegals to an extent by fencing the border..but cant stop it full...I understand they are a burden ..I too feel the same way..unless the Bangladesh economy is developed this illegal immigration is there to continue and nothing we can do about it..

create an electric fence , like the one israel has created.

till then , shoot the dogs on sight.

Yes .But doing something is better than doing nothing. If we can stop the migration to some extent it will be better than not doing anything at all.

They are not dogs..they are humans like us..they came here for jobs to support their family just like lots of Indians go to other countries for jobs..please dont use these kind of words..

We are not like that.We are a very soft country and the whole world takes advantage of it.I agree with the electric fence part though.

Already fences are laid in the border..no border in the world is secured yaar..people will find one or another way to cross the border..another step is to take strong action against these people ..catch them and deport them if authorities get information..

Increase awareness among Indians, not many even know that Bangladeshis illegally migrate. If the local population especially around the border and else where know of a racket or know of individuals who have illegally migrated, the authorities need to know.

Secondly, the unique id system, that is work in progress needs to be fast tracked and every person seeking a job should have this UID! similar to the social security number in the US. Since this project is fresh, include enough security polices that will make it very difficult for immigrants to get access to this identity.

Lastly, its is a big security issue hence the political parties need to stop supporting these illegal-immigrants for votes. As a last addendum, allow limited work visas for both labor type work and skilled jobs. This would be another way to keep track of them and will also probably facilitate the Bangladeshis to legally stay and work in India.
