CHITTAGONG, Mar 6: Bangladesh's leading ship-building company Western Marine Shipyard Ltd has taken initiative to provide employment to the workers returning from trouble-hit Libya.
The returnees who have the necessary technical skills will get jobs in Western Marine and its sister organisations.
The ship-building company has asked the workers with necessary skills in welding, fitting, electrical, carpeting and painting to communicate with the Western Marine.
Managing director of Western Marine Shakhawat Hossain said, "The Western Marine takes initiative as many of the returnees will face unemployment and financial uncertainties because of returning home amid political turmoil in Libya."
Chairman of Western Marine Saiful Islam said that Western Marine Training Institute, a sister concern of the company, will organise training for semi skilled and unskilled workers to help them, if necessary, for easy employment.
