The rule of the Gupta Dynasty and the reign of Emperor Harsha, who ruled northern India from the 4th century
to the 7th century, is described by many scholars as the Golden Age of India. The Gupta Kings and Emperor
Harsha were from the Vaishya Caste. They were great patrons of literature and science and the Indian economy flourished during their reign. But more importantly they were benevolent rulers who were concerned with the welfare of their subjects. They constructed numerous hospitals and Rest-Houses which provided food and medicine to the poor. During their reign the taxes were low compared to later Dynasties and forced labour was rare.
Were they better rulers than most of the Kshatriya rulers who succeeded them later because they were from the Vaishya Caste or were there some other reasons?

well do you know the onlireason why hem chandar lost to forces of akbar was because rajpots supported a non inidan over a Baniya from rewari in current haryana

and most muslims make fun of baniyas cause they know given a chance baniyas will be very difficultto handle and its started with hemu

look today most of the competitive exams most toppers and biggest number of "genral catogarry candidates to pass are infact baniyas"

kshatriyas alaways truled deu to there so alled "gos given right" while vaish banias ruled to serve the nation and proove there manging skills

here today i saw a pakistani boasting about harsha and aid thet he was a punjabi when he forgot he too was a hindu baniya

Harsha was not a Punjabi. His family was related to the Gupta Dynasty and were appointed by the Gupta rulers as officials.
But I know what you mean. It seems that even in southern India some of the greatest Dynasties were established by people who were not from the Kshatriya Caste.

No one can be born into a caste. Your actions/profession decides caste. For instance a dalit in Indian army becomes a Kshatriya. A shudra scientist becomes a Brahmin.

Lets not follow the fake rigid caste-system invented by the British.

The Gupta Empire led in a Golden Age for India, many advancements were made. Also the Huns were vanquished from South Asia.

Harsha was not a Punjabi. His family was related to the Gupta Dynasty and were appointed by the Gupta rulers as officials.

These Pakistanis are even claiming that Maurya was Punjabi and yet they can't give one source. These people have always lived in denial.

.
Lanti don't lie, Harsha was indeed retarded bania. But Maurya was ancient punjabi kshatriya, you know those who now days are known as punjabi sheikh/khatri. Hindu punjabi have explained in detail. Unfortunatly hindu punjabis are just few million in numbers, majority are muslims and sikhs who don't care about these things.

But i will always take punjabi hindu word over some aborginal from Bihar.

So one Hindu Punjabi is correct compared to every historian?

Chanakya was born in Mainwali, Punjab. Yet many Indian hindus now days even try to change his birth place, yet at the same time always cry about Akhand Bharat. Indians say east of Indus are Indians, yet Panini was born west of Indus. Most of Gandhara civilization was west of Indus....

Maurya was in Punjab when Alexander invaded. He belonged to this tribe

Aśvakas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

''The Aśvakas, according to Hindu tradition, were resident in the eastern parts of modern Afghanistan, south of Hindu Kush and their population reached up to the Indus River and to parts of Punjab in Pakistan. Their metropolitan areas were believed to be in the area of Swat (near modern Kalash-Valley and Pakistani side of Nuristan) and in some part regions of Gandhara (today Peshawar), in present day Pakistan.''

Chanakaya isn't involved in this debate, his birthplace is questionable.
He didn't belong to that tribe because on the same wiki page that you posted, it claims that Maurya had an alliance with the tribe.
The ancient Sanskrit drama Mudra-rakashas by Vishakhadatta and the Jaina work Parisishtaparvan refer to Chandragupta's alliance with Himalayan king Parvataka. The Himalayan alliance gave Chandragupta a formidable composite army made up of the Shakas, Yavanas, Kambojas, Kiratas, Parasikas and Bahlikas as attested by Mudrarakasha.
Clearly states that an alliance was formed with these tribes proving he didn't belong to them.

Don't make up stories. The ancient Indian sources only claim that Chanakya taught in Takshila but his birthplace is not known.
The Mauryan Kings were all from eastern India and thats why the capital of the Maurya Dynasty was established in eastern India. More importantly most of the records of the Maurya Kings like Ashoka were in Prakrit which was the spoken language of Eastern India.

Also none of the edicts of Ashoka are found in Punjab, all concentrated around Pataliputra and a few others:
