If west Bengal joins us Assam has to join too. But, in a united Bengal and Assam, Muslims will be just a thin majority or minority. So, it will have to adopt a secular policy in politics. I do not think people on both sides are ready for that.

I have met in Tokyo a few Hindus from west Bengal. They are proud of their Indianness even on a personal level. However, Hindu people descended from those who left BD after 1947 or 1971 still love their old home country. Even today, they identify themselves as from Bangladesh living in Kolkata, something like that.

My preposition is more practical and pragmatic.

Assam and Nagaland will trade happily with Bengal and Arakan.
