@Windjammer You might know I have exteme disdain for Musharaf. The reason is simple. He showed no spine and gave everything to USA. He literally handed Afghanistan to USA/India for peanuts. Pakistan has still not recovered from his sellout in 2001. That is why I consider Mush the biggest sellout in Pakistan's recent history.

I was just thinking what has happened to him ?
Then figured out hmmm Due to retire on 18 March 2018.

@The Eagle I am curious to know why the Air chief would issue such ultimatums at this time? Isn't it a little too late?

Its not an ultimatum , i see this as a chilling and frank statement yet a message to be noted across the border, he mean to deliver the message if we can detect and intercept your Drone, we can shoot it down whenever we want :)

Ask the Turks here. Would Turkey help USA to overthrow a neighbouring country and then replace it with a PKK or some Kurdish government? Would Turkey help USA to topple governments in Baghdad or Damascus and replace them with Kurdish PKK? This is what Mushraf did in 2001. He helped remove Taliban to replace it with rabidly anti-Pakistan Northern Alliance. Then people complain about Afghans. So we helped Americans to install bas*tard Northen Alliance in Kabul and we act hurt about how Afghanistan has behaved since 2001. Did we not know that NA are Indian lap dogs and rabid Pakistan haters from 1980s. I read a book by BBC reporter Sandy Gall in 1980s where he writes that Tajik Ahmed Shah Masoud showed extreme dislike for ISI, Pakistan. This is from 1980s. The reason why he was even b*tching in 1980s was ISI showed and quite naturally more tilt toward Pakhtun groups like. Then we supported the Taliban in 1990s who mad mince out of the Tajiks of NA. So by 2001 any idiot would know that handing Kabul to NA would be suicide for Pakistan. Ahmad Shah's buddies of NA now are sat in Kabul.

Keeping this in mind look at how Turks have worked with Americans in Syria/Iraq but they have their own red lines - which are making sure Kurdish groups do not gain ascendancy. In that regard the Turks have even gone to the extent of sending Turkish soldiers into Syria/Iraq to hit the Kurds. What did Musharaf do? Give all of Afghanistan on a platter to USA/India. Take a few dollars. This was as good as giving Pakistan's a*ss to India/NA.

And we have reaped the whirlwind for the last 17 years.

Well, per my understanding, it is merely a message that in-case relations are not on previous track, even the Military Cooperation will be zero. I see such very on time and perfectly relayed. Previously, there were agreements and both use to enjoy the spring of cooperation. You know, its winter again. Message is given that your threats or intrusions wouldn't work like in past where most of the sellout-national leadership was agreeing for xyz US actions. You know that how such statement works on international level and is good enough to draw the perfect picture.

I reiterate. The Tajik Northern Alliance is to Pakistan what PKK and other Kurdish groups are to Turkey. Ask any Turk here would they help USA to hand over Iraq or Syria to PKK? Would they even contend that for £200 billion. No is the answer.

Yet Pakistan handed Kabul over to Northern Alliance in 2001 under US duress and few measly dollars. Of course Musharaf did this because he had no mandate. So he sold out Pakistan's long term strategic security for few billion dollars which he used to extend [the money helped to give short boom to the economy] his rule by a few years. And get Us legitimacy by being wined and dined by Bush.

whatever @Kaptaan said is right and i second him on that issue.

in civilian govt. power is distributed and even if PM wants to do something he has to first take confidence of ministers, Parliamentarians and because in the end they have go to public for vote..

Yemen issue is in front of you. Even if Nawaz sharif wants to sent soldiers in Yemen but Parliament reject it.

Lets see when US announces an official policy on Pakistan which are more than tweets.

Mushy allowed drone strikes, he was the one who opened the gates for
the Americans to strike Waziristan. On average 1 drone strike per month
during Mushy's time but when Zardari come in it went upto100 strikes per
month.

Musharaf was isolated before 2001. He used 2001 sellout to extend his rule and garner few billions which he used to inject the economy giving a short term "good feeling" thus helping to extend his rule. In effect he took out a mortgage. He got legitimacy and dollars for selling Afghanistan to NA. He used them to extend and secure his rule. However Pakistan continues and will continue to pay monthly intallments for decades for the "mortgage" he took out.
