The Royal Navy showed off its HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier to Japan's defence chief on Monday at a naval base near Tokyo, marking the start of a permanent military presence in a region trying to come to grips with China's growing power.
"One of the purposes of this deployment is to signal the start of a commitment," Commodore Steve Moorhouse told a briefing on the ship. "The prominence of this region is rising significantly."

The Royal Navy does not have the required ships and personal to counter both the countries.

The Oceanic Powers have been dictating the terms since the 17th century.......

Meanwhile the combined fleets of China + Russia cold not put together a task force 1/2 as strong let alone travel all the way to the UK seas

Congratulations for barely keeping up with the average 3000 about as strong container ships making pretty much the same trip for the past 30 years or about 5000 over the last 20, but at least achieved something of value.

But maybe its the enemies we made along the way that were the real treasure.

So covering 24,000 miles makes a navy formidable? I would agree with your point when they will travel 24000 miles and back to their home base during war times....
