A committee has been formed to gather information on the 195 Pakistan Army men who allegedly committed crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971, Law Minister Anisul Huq has said.

Huq told Parliament on Wednesday that the constitution of the committee was the 'first' step.

He said the number of Pakistani army officials who had perpetrated war crimes was 195 or more.

"Gathering information on them through the committee is under way. The next step will be decided after analysing the information collected," the minister added.

Under a tripartite deal with Bangladesh and India after the war, Pakistan took back its 195 army personnel, detained in Bangladesh on war crimes charges, on condition that it will try them.

Forty-four years have passed but the country has not tried them.

The issue reemerged when citizens in Bangladesh renewed the demand to try them in response to Pakistan's criticism of the war crimes trial and the execution of war criminals in Bangladesh.

. .
And what exactly BD is going to do after collecting intel?

Stop their fish supply???

No. Bangladesh is undertaking this exercise to put Pakistan's hypocrisy on display. Pakistan tried to use the exact same Tripartite agreement to claim Jamaat-e-Islami leader Nizami could not be tried for war crimes. If Pakistan is so keen on this agreement, then why hasn't it prosecuted these 195 Pakistani soldiers for war crimes?

. .
Don't worry it will only create more extremist views for this current government (Hasina ka Pasina) and eventually it will be toppled. Btw who cares what this government has to say lol. It's like a kid a hanging out with college boys.

They can put this display on the walls of Bangabandhu stadium or bangabudhu stadium or whatever it is. Nobody gives a f*ck really. Not even BD's own people.

I propose Mossad style secret assassination.

For that you have to be Israel and your opponent to be Palestine. And you my friend certainly are not Israel and or we are Palestine.

Your govt can't even act on its own against some local idiots of Daesh

It is important that there is a joint historical study of the '71 war, while some of the participants are still alive.

For the records, we must have an account of what actually happened.

You are probably right. It might go no where. It has same probable chance of success as Pakistan's effort regarding Kashmir.

You do. It's called the Hamdoor Rehman Commission Report, which Pakistan suppressed. To many unpleasant facts, I guess.
