Wakhan Corridor: Pakistan’s Treasure Hunt Towards Debt Free Times

.
Strategically the Wakhan corridor is of great importance to Pakistan. Pakistan should send its forces and take this strip from Afghanistan. It would guarantee a direct route to central asia without having to rely on Afghanistan.

.
Pak needs to take Wakhan corridor either by buying or force.
And what will we achieve by taking a piece of land by force? A new enemy, another reason for afg to stop, harass, the people using the corridor, another legitimate reason for afghanistan to attack Pakistan stop all trade and grow close to iran and chabahar, kill the possibility of trade passing afghanistan to central asia. Just use the area and provide afghanistan with royalty. War brings destruction and nothing else also taking wakkan corridor will probably be the death of cpec which needs afghanistan to connect with central asia remember how pak-afg-uzb is pusinh to build a rail line from peshawar to mizar-e+sharif and uzbekistan is pusing to use cpec for trade. We need friendly govt in Afghanistan thats one of the main reason Pakistan wants IEA in ruling position. Anyone who proposes to buy or take wakkan corridor by force is either illiterate of how trade works, dumb or ignorant. Cheers!!

This will happen if Afghanistan tries to play cute in fata with us in future. They know they can't stop Pakistan from doing it in case of a conflict so they will never take a militarily fight with us though in their hearts they want to march towards peshawer all the time. This is Northern alliance Afghan pipeline dream since ages but fearing of losing strategic land is more on the cards for NA led govt in Kabul

The Wakhan corridor is mostly barren and not populated. It is populated by a small group of nomads, who are known to go to Pakistan in the spring/summer time to sell their Yaks/skins/milk. 400 SSG backed by a squadron of thunders and a few cobras would be more than enough.

.
If there had no Wakhan Corridor, Soviets would have already marched on Pakistan.

why?? were they afraid of crossing 12 km of wakhan?
but not afraid of marching on Pakistan??

soch ke bola ker mera bhai

.
For those who lin love of WahKhan watch this doc ... the region is very tough and accessible in certain seasons...
If you look closely in the first video, the bags of flour they are selling are from Pakistan so this area is already depend on Pakistan economically. However, the people are loyal to Northern Alliance, for Pakistan that is the biggest challenge.

Shouldn't PM shall approach Afghan regime to fix the issues you mentioned? or perhaps he's not aware of the issues you mentioned?
You think "Afghan regime" has the power to do so? There influence is very limited and scattered. Things get worse when even in their own control area they couldn't impose their directed writ

.
In reality, Pakistan can not get the wakhan corridor. Let’s say it did

It means the nasty 3 regional spoilers, Afghanistan, Iran, India be out

billon dollar pipes & routes can never go through Afghanistan we all know this To be correct and accurate.

Reason, British & Americans will not let this strategic asset slip into Pakistan hands

yes, i am sure the Prime Minister of Pakistan that has been screaming about increasing exports and industrialising the nation is unaware of the Wakhan corridor.

I have no reason to think otherwise. If its not the case than with whom Imran Khan is negotiating Afghan peace process?

I bet i had more geographical sense than Imran Khan, when i was in class six. I also trust most of nation has more knowledge of Pakistan's geography at any given time, than Imran Khan and nay of his minister and consultant.

Pakistan only need to educate Afghanistan for building a motor way to all CARs countries, namely Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan... from their own roads exist to Kazakhstan and Moscow, if that's what is needed.

Now what's the connection of industrialization with Wakhan Corridor... ?

I guess you wanted to create impression that Imran Khan has revolutionized industry (in dramatic way) of Pakistan, while caravans carrying their produce are stuck at Wakhan corridor, and once it's built, poverty will be no more.

Pakistan's best bet is Arabian sea... Arab and African market, those are consumer markets and with easy reach.

CARs are closely knitted with China and Russia, Pakistan will spend more building Motorway through Wakhan than it will ever profit from it.
Instead we shall focus on gas pipeline from Turkmenistan.

yeah, Afghans have always wanted to listen to what Pakistanis and our Prime Ministers have had to say.

the big thing about Wakhan Corridor is trade. key thing in trade is making stuff and selling stuff. Imran Khan wants to increase industries in Pakistan. these industries will make the stuff that we can sell, and some of it through the Wakhan Corridor. but i am sure Imran Khan doesnt know anything about it.

Imran Khan is certainly trying. he cant be expected to turn our industrial base into China's within 2 years.

Pakistan's best bet is Arabian sea... Arab and African market, those are consumer markets and with easy reach.

no shit. that has been the case forever. long before Imran Khan became Prime Minister. so why has our trade with Arab and African market been so poor and declining before Imran Khan became PM?

CARs are closely knitted with China and Russia, Pakistan will spend more building Motorway through Wakhan than it will ever profit from it.

this is speculative at best. we dont even know if we are the ones that are going to be paying for the motorways, railyways and whatever else happens. as for profit, these motorways will mostly be a one off cost, whereas as what we trade with CARs will be constant, year after year. we should think long term, diversify our export and import market, and not rely solely on the Arabs and countries under their sphere of influence.
