CPV) - The 16th World Police Music Festival will be held in Vietnam's capital Hanoi from Oct. 22 to 26 and will be co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Japanese Mainichi Daily News. This is the first time Vietnam has held this event.
There are four bands participating in the festival, including groups from Tokyo police, Seoul police, New York police, and the hosts Vietnamese Public Security.
As scheduled, the opening ceremony will be held at 8pm at Ly Thai To statue on October 23. They will then march around the Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi before performing at the Ly Thai To Park.
The World Police Music Festival was initiated by Japanese Mainichi Daily News, and was held for the first time in 1996. The event has been held 15 times, with the participation of many international police delegations.
By hosting the festival Vietnam aims to reinforce the cooperative ties between Vietnam and other nations and to enhance the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnams role in the world through the expansion of exchange among police forces worldwide.
The performance is expected to be cheerful and beautiful as a mixture of Asian and American cultures is showcased./.
