The graft is illegal in the SOE sector.

While for the POE sector, they can do whatever they want, it is always legal.

Someone will defend the POE by saying it is their own property, so they can do whatever they want.

But they forgot how those properties were acquired? For example, a company that worth 1 billion was sold for 1 million, this was simply the pillage.



Of course, those POE cannot handle the trillion mega project like this.

Why you keep fighting for a losing argument? Do you think your strong dislike for SOE would change the status quo in China's economic structure?

Again, don't generalize. I say they should not get involved in strategic sectors, and I am not saying what you have mentioned is not correct. And private companies are not just Shunfeng, Baidu and Alibaba, those models. Selling this country is so easy.

For example, this guy. Although he is in the jail now, but thanked to him, our HSR has become thriving and dominant in the world.

Li Keqiang's original plan was to fully privatize the entire rail sector, including the trunk railway.

However, this plan didn't succeed, so they are now planning to privatize the branch railway.

Rcrmj is naive.If i was high rank offical in SOE company ，I absoultely support privating SOE company which can make me very rich and my descendents rich for generations as USSR did.But I am a normal chinese，so I absoutely oppose privating SOE company which actually belong to the country,the government should continue reforming the SOE company to keep the efficiency, in my opinion, many SOE companies are very competent ,not all the SOE companies are dinosaurs..不要被那些砖家忽悠了，有句话讲得好：口里说的都是主义，心里想的都是生意。小心被别人卖了还帮人数钱，词语是很有迷惑性的，人们一般可以接受民营化，反感私有化，但实质不存在什么民营化，都是私有化。

They will ignore private water supply in Lanzhou, they will ignore those blood-sucking private railway companies, they will ignore private companies which run all national parks( I am in Jiuhuashan, 190yuan fee and 150yuan cable car). The private companies which they have mentioned are just Baidu and Alibaba which is not about privatization of SOE.

We all know what is a POE, that has been existing since maybe stone age (except during the Soviet model during 1949-1978). You make noodles, sell them to travelers passing by, that's one form of POE. The most important characteristic is that you may make profit, or loose money, that's none of other people's business.

When your village needs to pave a road, wow that's critical (being the only one), no single villager has to right to do so without consent from everyone else. There are two ways, either pool tax money together, or form a village-owned company to run it. That came one form of SOE.

In our village, clearly noodle shops and the trunk road are very different things.

The magic word is "S", the state. So who is the "state" and hence owns the enterprise exactly? This might mean the tribal leaders, emperor himself, royal family, a group of people in control, or "all citizens", depending how the "country" is formed.

Alright, let's say it is owned by "all citizens", do the shareholders have a say on how it is being run? How?

What "all citizens", including you and me, are expecting from SOE if that company's business in within the country i.e. generating revenue from the people i.e ourselves?

There are many forms of market, stock is one of them. How the stock market play a role in SOE?
