Vietnam premier wants to finish privatizing 289 state-run firms by 2015

I know VCP alays folows their big bro to the north.loo Though the two country might dislike each other, they always remind me of the type of relation between a big brother and his junior brother. Quite trouble some, but very much alike in almost every aspect. LOVE-HATE relationship.:kiss3::feminist:
:laughcry:

he he, Vietnam's largest trading partner is actually China. That should be a message for all. Despite all the Vietnamese and Chinese ultranationalists here in PDF trading 'fighting words' with each other, in the end of the day China and Vietnam have a bilateral trade of over $60 Billion per year (US Dollars). Big Money.

lol

I know bro there are lots of ultra nationalists on PDF. it doesnt necessaily shows how tjings are in both country. Very few reasonable voices on here.:) Whie they keep ranting at each other, the elites/officials know they need each other and will keep trading with each other despite what some of the common people might think. People hardly ever make their country's foreign policy, not even in democracies does it happens(except in exceptional circumstances), forget about one party dictatorships/authocracies. So dont see why some common civilains/people cant just set aside their ultra nationalism and be more rational towards their fellow citizens in other countries(even rival ones). Well, personally that's how i see things, reason i often make factual/honest statements/comments not to the liking of many members from different countries on here. hihihihihihi.......:D:bunny:

One has to rise above the frey, and see things for how they are. And not be a blind, naive prole. :)

Capitalism and privatization are nothing wrong for those western countries which established their systems, laws and social beliefs on privatization at the very beginning in 15th century. They have such soils for privatizations to flourish. But they are wrong for countries like Vietnam, which can't handle the social structure changes by privatization, especially without a strong leadership by VCP, its economy size and strength is not strong enough to resist any foreseeable troubles like 1997 financial crisis, and when that happens, all the private agents are thinking how to protect their own interests, they will leave Vietnam betrayed. You know what, the most important thing perhaps is the property right, VCP is depriving its people of their property right over those SOEs, this is disaster.

CPC is doing good in having a mix state own and private company.

Natural monopoly, defence and resources, such as energy, water, telecom, mines should be in the hand of states. The rest especially IT should be in private control, but the states could support them with capital or regulations.

No states can create companies like Google or Facebook.

CPC is doing a good job in support Xiaomi, Ali and Baidu.

The white man land are in shit because they privatize everything.

I am afraid it will be the oligarchs from the VCP who will end up controlling your economy.

Privatization is a code word for elites to divide spoil among themselves. The scion of these party boss will turn around and become capitalist.

Vietnam leadership is now carving up the entire country.

Those pro-privatization communist officials are probably the most corrupt ones.

Those people are nothing but opportunists without any strong faith, and they joined the communist party just for the graft opportunities, not to serve the people at all.

Now the managers who were appointed by the people to safeguard the national wealth will end up owning everything.

And all the national wealth will become their private property.

I am not against the innovative high-tech companies like Apple or Google.

But those strategic companies just as the military techs and natural resources must be controlled by the government.

Look at China's coal industry which was privatized decades ago, but those private owners were by far less responsible than their state-owned counterpart, and they don't give a sh1t about the environment and the working class either.

Some sectors can be private, but some others cannot. We must be realistic here, not simpleton and superstitious about the myth of the capitalism/privatization.

Why should he be hung? One should be wary of a constrictive economic policy. Anyways, look at how much China , too, has moved towards growth of individualization in market economics , and a transparent corporate law. Vietnam, too, can learn from the Chinese model. That is to say, the Vietnamese already learned from the Chinese model. :)

Entrepreneurial spirit should not be punished, but rewarded.

You really can't blame that on the coal industry alone, or on lack of economic environmental policy alone because the concept of environmental protection wasn't even widely accepted or supported in the United States in the 1970s, 1980s. Rather, it was just starting. That applies now in context to China.

$66b was reached last year 2014. we could have reached more if the chinese did not resort to dirty tactic, aka oil rig. not to mention, sabotaging imports from Vietnam.

the current PM has become a liberal free market man, of a pro-US faction.

he wants Vietnam to join TPP because of economic and strategic reasons. and everybody knows the US demands from vietnam less state owned companies and independent unions. but you can slap your face. it is you, that pushes Vietnam into US open arm.

Wow..that's almost equal to India-China trade. Jeez......means India and China barely trade with each other considering their population/size.... Strangeeeeeeee..
I can bet Vietnam-China trade will surpass India-China trade in about 3years from now or less.:). Great going Vietnam.:enjoy:

our domestic and foreign manufacturing factories need a lot of imports from china. everything. and china can deliver all at fast speed and reasonable prices. both sides vietnam and china want to reach $100b in 2017. I bet we can reach this target in 2016 if the relation gets back to normality. our main concern is the huge trade deficit.

Agree bro. That's why I still admire east Asia/SEA they are more pragmatic to know trade should always go on despite any misgivings they might have politically. That's something south Asia ought to learn, else they will keep lagging behind big time. They are the least integrated/connected region in Asia (and even the world).

Vietnam is finally selling their national assets which theoretically owned by all her people.

After all the privatization work is done, VCP's prestige and reputation will be undermined by private business and foreign peers, since VCP has lost its control of Vietnam's economy, their orders are no more effective. So what's next? Mutil party system for Vietnam?

Also I suggest China should begin to find her agent in Vietnam. :china:

Yes, it's coming. It's also bad news for the people when foreigners own your private assets. They basically got you by the balls and will squeeze it if you don't behave.

About 75% of Canada's companies are foreign owned. Anytime there is a recession or downturn in economy, they lay off the people from Canada first.
