What is interesting is that Ashraf Ghani says the relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are state to state.
Yet he completely uses a different framework vis-a-vis India -- the language is eloquent and flowery vis-a-vis India and he uses the paradigm of friendship and not state-to-state.
Great speech (more like wedding wows) -- I guess the Jurnails knew his outreach was just nice words (in his heart he had something else) -- lol -- In honesty I have never heard a more heart warming speech that I can remember by any leader or statesman in recent memory let alone by the cerebral Ghani. He shifts to Pashto later on which I don't understand, perhaps someone can translate it but the part in Darri is intense prose -- I listened to it several times.
The one ironic part is that Modi cannot appreciate the beautiful prose this speech was written in.
I think Pakistanis should listen to this speech very very carefully -- it will dispel any misunderstanding Pakistanis have. Also note the speech is in Dari and not in English while Nerendera Modi looks on.
The tragedy is that the Afghan nation does not have a single such profession to whom they should try to model: Turkey.
The other point is that in actuality a lot of the restoration work work was borne by Aga Khan Foundation which specializes in such projects but he mentioned them only once.
All of the Who's Who in Afghan Foreign Policy is sitting in audience -- @A-Team are you there too ? ;-)
Also to salute India's smartness -- this is a relatively small building but will house elements of Afghan foreign office
