This is so true, I was shocked to see people still supporting PPP from Karachi when I visited PaK in 2018. But in term of personality, how can they support lame creatures like Sharifs an Zardari against IK?

It's local personalities. Like my family vote for PPP because the local PPP candidate is of the Jatt caste and a muhajir.

In our village areas, they still discriminate on the basis of caste and on the basis of whether you migrated at partition or not. Even today the mentality remains.

If the same guy stood for PTI they'd all vote PTI.

In recent general elections his vehicle was shot at by the PTI people and his guards shot and killed one of the PTI supporters. Who started it, Allah knows only, both parties claim to be victims. Anyway, after that people from our villages for a few months could not safely travel through the villages which were PTI affiliated out of fear of violent retribution. This is all inspite of the fact these villages are 15 minutes away by car, 5 if the roads weren't utter shit. People are school/college friends, attend each others weddings and funerals, but when it comes to politics, they all get very tribal.

In that situation and atmosphere, people have to stick to their "own".

so you're azad Kashmiri too?

I completely agree, the different caste systems of Raja, Jatt, Chaudhry etc is all backwards and very damaging to a society

. . .
What difference does it makes when our neutrals will rule anyway against the wishers of voters.
A sad reality.

. .
But these guys were not Sindis or Punjabis, they were originally from Baltistan.

The Jatts from Baltistan are ethnically South Iranian and even lesser known castes like Koka are too.

Overall, it is a stupid system and needs to be forgotten about

People vote for biradari and personality not party. Its a very backward political culture.

They bully and harass you if you vote a different party, but then again PTI does the same, they try to isolate you, threaten you etc. Its not just the parties fault but the people who think of themselves selves as mafias.

They support the local leaders, not the main leaders. If the local leader joins PTI then all the people join and we hear the slogans Naya Pakistan agaya. At the moment majority of the youth supports IK but going against the local mafia, police is another issue.

Nicely put. What i found was the PTI guys are same as the PPP guys, rigging elections, forcing people to vote for them, blackmailing, threatening etc. All the same tactics used by the ppp guys. So why should we vote PTI instead of PPP? Theyre both the same.

Its not really the cast or tribe system. Its the people who bully, harass and discriminate.
People always find something to fight and discriminate others over, Punjab v Ajk, KPK v Sindh, High class v low class, rich v poor, weak v strong etc. If all of the above didn't exist then it would be Islamabad v Peshawar, Karachi v Lahore etc. Jahalat at its peak is the best answer.

Understandable, but that's voters. You'd still expect the candidates themselves to seek the stronger party and vice versa.

depends on if you believe IK is the same as NS and Zardari as well.

Unfortunately in the rural parts of AJK, it's so backwards, the candidates know the votes are a given. Candidates also pay for votes, ie they'll strike deals with heads of families of local influencers who'll them campaign on their behalf and trash talk the opposition. This is not such an issue in cities and towns, but in rural AJK it's still very real unfortuntely. Similarly open rigging is taken for granted.

It depends on the MP doing his/her job on the ground.

Might be an MP whose doing good work in his constituency and representing PPP.

AJK has literacy rate of 80%, highest in Pakistan.

They would never support PPP or PDM mix pickle.

Rigging is going on.

In coming days, see how media and lifafis will write 10,000 words essay on how great PPP is
