Utility Stores Corp. Recorded 1176% Increase in Revenue During 2020

The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) had a turnover of around Rs. 100 billion in 2020 as compared to Rs. 8.5 billion in 2019.
USC Managing Director, Umer Lodhi, said that USC has become a debt-free and self-sufficient corporation and it will be restructured in a progressive manner with a customer-centric approach.


According to Lodhi, it is expected that by the fiscal year 2021 USC turnover will reach Rs. 150 billion.
Once a loss-making entity, USC contributed Rs. 8.564 billion in national exchequer during the fiscal year 2019-20 – one of the leading contributors.

USC ensured food security by serving 45.77 million households during the year through its retail network and provided relief to people through Prime Minister’s Relief Package since January 2020.

Similarly, USC was the pioneer of introducing poly/shopping bags in Pakistan by using Oxo-biodegradable Additives.
Currently, the corporation is planning to introduce a central IT system for all its offices, warehouses, and retail outlets to maintain accurate data logs of inventories.

I was not going to reply to this but this sentence exemplify the thinking of a growth stunted population.

So a growth of sales of Utility Stores from Rs. 8.5 billion to Rs. 100 billion is considered pathetic because your belief is that beurocrats might have made good kickbacks.

So if sales would have stayed unchanged at Rs. 8.5 billion, it would've not be pathetic?

I do not know if a sales growth from Rs. 8.5 billion to Rs. 100 billion is pathetic or not, but someone calling this growth pathetic is a prime specimen of an individual from a growth stunted population.

The report does not say the anything about growth being in the profit of USC. Only you are assumong anything about growth in profit by your ground breaking discovery : 'That's revenue not profit'

Nowhere in the report said that USC made loss in 2020, only you have successfully figured it out ' They could be in loss after the kickbacks'. What calculations did you make to reach this eye opening fact? And BTW you don't happen to drive a cab in UK, do you?

Report did not mention anything about Loss, Profit or kickbacks . The report mentioned ' Once a loss-making entity, USC contributed Rs. 8.564 billion in national exchequer during the fiscal year 2019-20 – one of the leading contributors', but you are have to bring kickbacks into the logic and called the sales growth Pathetic because of imaginary kickbacks. And still you have nerves to tell me that I need a brain larger than a peanut.

And look at your attention span when you said 'Meaning they sold more aata cheeni, the things the illiterate population was dying for". It would have helped if you had attention span of more than 3 seconds and looked at the Utility Store picture included in the report. Of all the items shown in the picture, I did not see aata-Cheeni that you are harping about. Seriously, have you been to a Utility store in Pakistan lately?
