U.S. Muslims outraged after imams kicked off plane

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Muslim leaders expressed outrage on Tuesday after six imams were removed from a commercial airline flight in Minnesota for what they said was nothing more than trying to say evening prayers.

They were treated like terrorists ... humiliated," said Abu Hannoud, civil rights director for the Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who said the men were taken off the US Airways flight in handcuffs

Funny how the idiots would throw away in total humiliation the few guys amongst the few imaams that would make the effort to bridge the gaps and for it travel to America!

Outrageous man. If they did try to find a spot on the plane to pray, they could've easily been asked not to. It sounds like no procedure was followed and they were just ushered out of the plane based on how their appearance made everyone feel.

hey hey hey at least all the so called muslims nations will provide bases and there water ways to the Americans to use against other muslim countries.but then they treat muslims bad.Muslims dont have self respect they fear washington they dont fear God at all.THen they get treated bad by Americans and complain its a mystery to me.people want respect but dont actually wanna earn it.dont want to tell the Americans in there countries to go suck on a Lemon.I also wonder if the so called Muslim nations will ask any westren country to provide there military instalation to destroy another western country what would be the answer.LET ME THINK NO

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and likes water it's probably a duck, unless (as in this case) it's a goose.

This may not be fair, but in the modern age of 9-11, richard reid, liquid explsove and numerous high profile attacks on forms of mass transit by those claiming the banner of islam, it is to be expected. Terrorism has indeed spread terror.

how u justify that praying is something to be harmful in this case.

Doesnt it mean even after many securiy checks if the americans are so unsecure, its either problem with their perception or with their security system.

America wasn't attacked by a politcal movement, it was attacked by madmen in the name of a religion. It is not nazi to be wary of a relgion when so many adherants of the religion either wish you harm, celebrate when you suffer harm, or actively seek to do you harm, it's called prudence.

You might not like it, and it might be unfair, but so was having 3,000 Americans killed in a single day using comercial airliners. And until jihadist stop trying to bring death to America, we are going to be a bit gunshy of groups of Arab men suddenly doing something out of the ordinary.

lets suppose they were doing something out of ordinary.....then they should have a check on them.....not to kick the out.....they can take any security measures.....but they should not do what they have done....

The aircraft crew didn't have any training to recognize what the men were doing as prayers. One of the passengers gave a note to an airhostess regarding the men. The men were politely asked to disembark(is this word used only in the nautical sense or for aircraft too?) and when they refused they were not so politely ushered off. In retrospect, it was a misunderstanding not a case of racism.
