US submarine hit underwater seamount in South China Sea

Seriously dude, your ignorant comments are a disgrace to every "Elite" member on this forum. If I were a Mod, I would have demoted you to a "Garbage Collector" level.
The forum will be downgraded if having a Mod like you. Even fishing boats also know where is CN nuke sub, so they can drop fishing nets and force the sub to emerge

"Rising up next to another country's ships is not normal and shows something is wrong," Mr Sutton told Australia's News. "Something serious enough to sacrifice its greatest strength: stealth." Submarines and fishing boats often don't "get along," writes Mr. Sutton.

Mr Sutton said it was possible the submarine had become entangled in a fishing net, or feared it would be. The rise "might have saved the lives of the fishermen, as well as the sailors in the submarine". Mr. Sutton cited the 1984 incident, when a Soviet submarine got entangled in the net of a Norwegian fishing boat. After hours of trying to free itself, the submarine had to surface, revealing its mission just off the coast of a NATO country.

In 1990, a British submarine sailed through the nets of a small fishing boat off the coast of Scotland. All four crew members died when their boat was towed. It is possible that the Chinese submarine was entangled in a fishing net or feared to be entangled, Mr. Sutton argued. And the risks associated with fishing nets will be an issue when Chinese missile submarines patrol in the SCS(east VN sea), rather than in the East China Sea and Yellow Sea.

Just really, really disgraceful posts coming from a so called "Elite" member ! If you are a so called "Elite Member", may God protect us all ! AMEN !

The sub is not forced to emerge. It can also just keep going and collide with the fishing boat. It doesn't end well for the fishing boat.

Chinese never harm innocents. In times of peace, even a single fisherman's life is precious to us. Sub emerged for your safety.

U know, many VN fishing boats may carry some fishing grenades. Its a suicide if your subs try to collide with our fishing boats :pop:

Destructive method

When using mines or explosives to catch seafood, fishermen simply activate the detonator and throw it into the water. The explosion will shock the water and kill fish and shrimp in a large area, then the fisherman just dives into the water to pick up the dead fish (usually big fish) and picks up the dead small fish that float to the surface. . This method makes the fight fast, compact, lightweight, does not take a lot of manpower and energy, but the consequences are unpredictable. Because, the use of mines/explosives in fishing not only kills fish and shrimp, but also takes the lives of many creatures in the fishing area and threatens the marine ecosystem.

Explosions caused by fishing with mines/dynamite not only destroy the habitat of shrimp and other marine animals, but also threaten to destroy coral reefs. If the shrimp and fish die, the corals are gone, the sea will become a desolate place. Toxic substances from mines/explosives are discharged into the marine environment and the dead fish and shrimp carcasses that are not picked up are decomposed, which will pollute the marine environment, and life will no longer exist. In the past, people used to be very confused and angry when they saw the destruction of some sea areas contaminated by industrial wastes discharged into the sea through clips recorded by scientists.

Hope there is no pollution in the South China Sea!

Given the sophistication of US subs …there is no way it hit a geographical feature under the sea… and if you consider the recent call between Biden and Xi to respect the Taiwan act - this sounds like a military incident with a USA submarine getting rammed as a warning shot across the bows over Taiwan….

An official Chinese source did say that America should be honest about what really happened down there.

.
We will know what happens when the Sub pulls into Guam ( unless of course they do it at night and no one can get any photos of it before they cover it up... ).

Oh? And what exactly did happen down there?

Perhaps China should be honest and tell us?

Assuming they were involved in any way of course. And that's a fairly big assumption.

Oh? And what exactly did happen down there? Do tell!

Are you privy to any information that some of us don't know?

Yes, I was snorkeling down there with my exotic girlfriend. I hit the submarine with my fins.

.
on the surface they hit merchant ships and now underwater. this is embarrassing.
