A group of US senators from both parties submitted to the Senate a bill that would prevent the sale of F-35 stealth aircraft to Turkey and the operation of a regional maintenance base for these planes within Turkey. The bill was submitted last weekend by Republican Senators James Langford and Tom Hills and Democratic Senator Jean Shahin.

Turkey, which is a member of NATO, has ordered 100 F-35s at Lockheed Martin, and the first 14 planes have already been officially purchased and were due to be delivered to Turkey this year.30 Additional planes are to be delivered to the Turkish Air Force by the end of 2022.

Senator Langford told FLIGHT GLOBAL that Turkey's President Erdogan is abusing the law, violating individual rights and some of his strategic decisions are contrary to US interests He mentioned the arrest of an American priest in Turkey, saying that "all these factors are becoming dangerous to aircraft transfer and advanced technologies Turkey is "closer to Russia." Senator Shahin said she would give up the bill if Erdogan complied with the laws, released the detained priest in Turkey and stopped harassing and harassing local workers at US missions in Turkey.

A week ago senior American diplomats threatened to cancel the sale of F-35s to Turkey after Ankara announced its intention to acquire the advanced S-400 DNA system in Russia.

There's not much Turkey can do unless it decides to surrender to the US black mail. I doubt if a proud nation like Turkey will ever do that. In the Muslim world Turkey has a unique history in the sense that it could never be colonized by any power. Turkey's commitment to democracy has farther glorified her role in the eyes of people with integrity. I would hope that Turkey will put her indigenous stealth fighter programme on a super fast track. This will be a befitting reply to the US arm twisting.

S-400 + F-35 will be different :) (Kudur)

Don't worry, Turkey will get both weapon systems :)

That will be wonderful! I wonder what Turkish people have to say about the US. Do they still consider the US as an ally?

What makes you think we considered "ally" to begin with? Most people in Turkey would hate the US regardless of their political view but it's not a blind hate against normal American folk.

Turkey should be in quarantine, since we are not sure where it is heading presently.
All sales of sensitive high tech military equipment should be stopped.
It might end up in the hands of the Chinese or worse.

It is a sound state of mind not to be washed away by blind hatred. Blind hatred gets you nowhere but this is what one can observe in case of the west's attitude toward Turkey. We can see the havoc caused by blind hatred in india, israel, KSA, Syria, Egypt, Iran, the US and the list goes on and on. The entire world is in the grips of people like assad, sissy, trump, modi and netanyahu. Sometimes they are elected as is the case of the US Senate and sometimes they are usurpers of the state power as is the case of sissy. It does not matter how they come to power because the end result is almost always a disaster for the mankind.

Stupid bill would never pass. On a serious note, Turkey should go for Su-57. It's way cooler than F-35.

Some in India still do it on the streets but its still better than going ‘kaboom’ on the streets.

Is 50% your definition of "some" in other words 560 Million. :D

Along the tracks, another crowd is gathering - each person on his own, separated by a modest distance. They are among the 48% of Indians who do not have access to proper sanitation.

The US can't really do that, as it would be political suicide.

If they do, there will be nothing in the way of French cooperation, as it would mean that France would have to forego its sovereignty, and this applies to many other countries seeking to become world powers.

As soon as the US is deemed as no longer reliable, countries would flock away from it and to Chinese and possibly Russian hands (Russia is also unreliable btw), but Turkey won't really lose that much.

Stepping on shit is far better than stepping on an IED my dear friend.:flame:

Kaboom? You mean gangraped to death.
Don’t troll, you know exactly what it means.
Do you want Turkey to be in the same situation as Pakistan or Afghanistan?

Not gonna happen. Engine is the heart of a plane. Even India can't make a jet engine. The only reason Tejas can fly is because of American engine.
