US Seeking Evidence Of Chemical Weapons In Syria Before Taking Action
The White House has said more evidence was needed to confirm the Syrian government used chemical weapons against its people.
President Barack Obama addressed the issue in the Oval Office, where he met with Jordans King Abdullah II, though he didnt commit to any action in Syria.
He said that he has been very clear publicly that the Syrian Government used chemical weapons on its people and crossed a line that will change his calculus on how the United States approaches these issues.
According to Fox News, much has been talked after Obama suggested that the use of deadly chemical agents could be the red line for the U.S. to intervene in the two-year-old Syrian war.
Earlier on Friday, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters that the U.S. was still investigating evidence that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons in its fight against rebels.
Meanwhile, two Syrian officials have denied that its government forces had used chemical weapons against opposition forces, the report added.
