The US Pacific Fleet is down to 182 vessels (from 192 about 20 years ago).

The US has a total of 272 ships (down 20% from 1998), which includes support ships.

China is building its second carrier.

Additionally, China is busy building Type 052C/052D Chinese-Aegis destroyers and constructing a new class of Type 055 dual-band AESA radar destroyers. Also, China is building more Type 054A frigates and Type 056 light frigates.

Moreover, China is building a new generation of Type 095 SSNs and Type 096 Tang-class SSBNs.

China is expanding its fleet of Yuan diesel-electric submarines with AIP.

In conclusion, the Chinese Navy is growing by leaps and bounds. In contrast, the US Navy keeps shrinking. At some point, the Chinese Navy will become clearly stronger than the US Navy. I estimate it happens in about 10 to 15 years.

I am not an expert, but an Aegis destroyer has VLS 96 cells that can be fitted by everything from harpoon to tomahawk.

When u saw U.S DDG has VLS-launched 'Harpoon' anti-ship missile, to google or wiki ... the 'Harpoon' can't install inside MK-41 VLS cells. Don't say something u don't know, Uncle SAM isn't the Superman !

Tomahawk missile can destroy everything from surface warship to land target from 2,500 km distance. An aegis destroyer can carry 90 plus tomahawk, isn't it?

actually he is ignorant fools, Imperial Japanese Navy had more than 500 warships in their inventory at the peaks of war (including torpedo boats and submarine chaser)

actually Standard Missile can be used against surface target, for Submarine there is ASROC and ASW helicopter

But currently they are developing LRASM to be fitted in their VLS.

US Navy presence had securing so many vital sea lanes used for trade globally, i am more worried about the clash between regional power if US suddenly stopping their overseas activities.
