If China can help build a trans-African railway to Djibouti it could help move this increase in food output more easily to China and help African countries cut transportation costs for their own domestic needs.

But ultimately China will need strong local governments that are allied with China to ensure food is safely transported to ports and Chinese consumers.

Why would US scared of China doing agriculture productions in Africa ? US can produce more than enough food to feed its population, just pure greed ? Note, China produces twice as much cereals as India does with the same populations, so Indians must be starving.
