You confuse Uighurs with Uighur separatists. The former is a part of us, and the latter is our enemy.
1. The purpose of the terrorist attacks launched by Uighur separatists is to arouse the hatred of the Han people against the Uighur people, and then use the hatred of the Han people to intimidate ordinary Uighurs to join the separatist organization.
Of course, we cannot be fooled by this means. We do not hate and exclude ordinary Uighurs. On the contrary, after the terrorist attacks, more Uighur stars appeared in China's entertainment industry. Xinjiang Armed Police have recruited more Uighur soldiers to fight separatist groups.
2, Uighurs are not terrorists, they are our compatriots. There are 700k Uighur CCP-member and 200k Uighur soldiers in XinJiang. In fact, most of the soldiers guarding Xinjiang are Uighur soldiers.
If you look up the names of Chinese soldiers who died in Xinjiang from 2014 to 2017 Mission Against Terror, you will find that most of them are Uighur names, because Uighur soldiers are the main anti-terrorism force in Xinjiang.
A simple logic is that without the support of the Uighur people, China could not completely eliminate terrorists in just four years.
Uighurs want a stable and prosperous life. They hate terrorists funded by the CIA. Many of these terrorists are not Uighurs, but foreigners.

3, On September 18th, 2017, all Uighur separatist organizations in China were wiped out.
The Chinese govt's method of quickly exterminating Uighur separatist organizations is simple. Issue wanted notices for all terrorists, and those who provide information about wanted criminals will receive cash rewards. 5million CNY (800000 US dollars) will be awarded for each person arrested.
This video is a news in 2015. 30000 Uighurs are chasing a terrorist with sticks.
You can see from the video that ordinary Uighurs hate these separatists more than Han people. Now no separatists from abroad dare to return to Xinjiang.
4, There are not only Uighurs and Hans in Xinjiang, but also many ethnic minorities. Except Han and Mongolian, other ethnic minorities are Muslims. Uighurs are not the only Muslims.
Before 2004, the integration of Uighur was mainly the contradiction between Uighur and Hui, Tajik and Mongolian. After 2004, terrorist organizations suddenly appeared in Xinjiang and went to Han people's cities to carry out terrorist attacks. Obviously, they want to attract Han people retaliation to intimidate ordinary Uighurs and force them to support separatism.
In 2014, during the terrorist attack in Urumqi, the slogan shouted by the terrorists was: kill all the Hui and drive away the Han. From the slogan, they hate the Hui more.
The hatred between Uighurs and Tajiks is even more complicated(Persian and Turkic, Shiite and Sunni), now the peaceful coexistence of the two nationalities depends on the regulation of the Chinese govt. I don't know the reason for the contradiction between Uighurs and Mongols. Maybe it was the war and massacre in the Qing Dynasty? Or the problem between Islam and Tibetan Buddhism?
5, If compared with other ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, the integration of Uighurs does have some problems. At least no other ethnic minorities have joined the separatist groups.
In fact, the integration of Uighurs is more likely to be the problem of unbalanced economic development. The Han and Hui Nationalities in the north have convenient transportation and developed economy. The Tajiks in the West have oil fields. Mongols in the East and Tibetans in the South have pastures. Uighurs can only grow fruit. Of course, they will think it unfair. If we want to completely solve the problem of Uygur integration, we must start from solving the economic problem.
