WASHINGTON: The United States offered cooperation to Pakistan in catching the culprits responsible for the deadly Quetta bombing and decried the terrorist attack which killed seventy people.

While giving a briefing in Washington, the spokesperson for the US State Department condemned the Quetta blast and said that two important pillars of democracy, journalism and judiciary were targeted. The spokesperson expressed sympathy with the ones who had lost their relatives in the attack and said that such incidents only strengthened the resolve to fight militancy around the world.

The spokesperson also said that the United States was with Pakistan in the war against terrorism and would not attempt to exploit the Quetta bombings politically. In response to a question, Elizabeth Trudeau, the spokesperson for the US State Department, said that the US was concerned about violence in Kashmir but it wanted the issue to be resolved through dialogue between India and Pakistan.

The terrorist attack in Quetta on Monday killed seventy people and injured scores of others. The incident was condemned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CM and Governor Balochistan, PTI chief Imran Khan and various other Pakistani politicians and personalities.

The Islamic State group (Daesh) claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attack.

bhai everyone knows especially Uncle sam that we are the biggest victim of their misadventure in afghanistan.

bhai everyone knows especially Uncle SAM that we are the biggest victim of their misadventure in Afghanistan. and still most of them say we are not doing enough this is the height of hypocrisy

Thank you uncle sam much appreciated. Please apprehend the terrorists hiding in Afghanistan and in Indian consulates
first thing America can do is shut down people like Dona and Khalizad who are advocating insurgency and breakup of Pakistan. and discourage India from using Afghanistan as a launch pad of BLA related terror.

That is the irony of it all. The Americans are infiltrated with anti-Pakistan elements who are obviously India centric. The official American stance is also very confused. They say one thing, but act entirely differently. The frank truth is that we don't know whose side the US really is on. Their words and deeds don't add as far as Pakistan is concerned.

All that US need to do is, do your part in Afghanistan with all those gadgets and support. If the threat would have been dealt long ago or at-least like the parameters that PA set by wiping them off the land of Pakistan. US & Allies can do much better to overcome the threat and those losses in future if it is not about to support one evil to counter another as what happened in history. Such stand against terrorism should be impartial and unbiased rather choosing among them and supporting proxies with benefits for self.

Also, US need to remind India to stay out of dirty work or can pay hand for growth and peace if really wanted to stabilize the region. This game of good & bad wouldn't bring anything beneficial for anyone. Pakistan hardly and after all those sacrifices, almost eliminates the terrorists yet they gain more ground, strength and support again from Afghanistan and revisit as another threat to deal with.

For the betterment, such statements interpreted as "do more" need to be stopped and there is a need of appreciation openly that what Pakistan has done against WOT. Indeed it is a reality that the past warmth of our relation is no more there but still Pakistan is much needed in this peace process for everyone so can not be ignored or all those achievements couldn't be thrown away, otherwise, everyone would be dealing the threat lonely without any effect. Being a sovereign and growing nation, the relations of past with threats and greedy political elite cannot be practiced anymore as the time has been changed. Hopefully, we will be working on better and safe region in future but one sided, self posed stance will result in loss of favour from our end or not very welcoming that you will have to deal with your issues all alone.

When they couldn't discourage Pakistan in using terrorism as a weapon against India, what makes you think they will be able to discourage India from doing what it needs to do in retaliation?

It is American responsibility being an occupying force, that Afghan soil is not used to spread terrorism inside Pakistan specially by American allies like India. Failure to do so, will mean partner in crime.

They are a partner and fully know what is going on. Like you say, they are the occupying force in Afghanistan. They are just turning a blind eye and pretending otherwise. They are making a mistake because this will hurt the relations beyond repair if it already hasn't reached that point.
