True - but RSA mine proof vehicles are designed to deflect the shock. They are not to absorb it. I have been in one runover of a 100kg IED in Angola - no issues. Casspir just had a blown out tire.

Same about the Merkava, its belly was designed in Russia to deflect mines, didn't work too well against large IEDs

if you look at casspir - i dont know if there are examples in IDF - I have not seen any to date; the chassis is very very high; and the V is a double V. Prior to long range patrols; we would fill the V tanks with water. It was an additional shck absorber. Merkava is much much lower. I think there are some youtube for casspir just walking over minefields; there are versions with steel tyres for specifically this purpose.

We have the Golan and Wolf vehicles against mines.
I don't really know what the Merkavas capabilities against mines are. but I know that it has shaped belly and bunch of armor in it.

Wolf is definitely not complete V - it needs to start from the center bottom. if you look at Golan it is visible.

Tanks definitely are challenged; we learned that in the bush operations; if you look at SADF doctrine - we went all out for mine proof long range fighting vehicles that could work at least 2000km away. For Isreal's theater of operation range is not an issue.

Don't think. From what i know these deliveries are part of the initial order of those MRAPs. We have not yet received all of them. They are coming in batches.
