US B-52 bombers fly near Chinese made islands in South China Sea

.
If you want evidence of China's rise, look no further than this.

Bombers did not breach the 12 mile zone, while in 1996 the US sent the biggest American force in Asia since Vietnam war to intimidate China.

A lot of people can say a lot of things, but it doesn't change the fact times have changed. That's all one can ask for, really.

.
how is a regular flight a waste of US tax dollars?

A "regular" flight just a few nautical miles away from lands claimed by China in an effort to provoke. How would you feel if Chinese bombers with armaments flew near Hawaii?

. .
Well no surprise there, The U.S is simply trying to show who is the boss in the region, and that it will keep its military dominance in SCS/pacific and that China shouldn't change the status quo. So expect U.S patrols to continue and even increase as tension between both countries increase But there will be no shooting war obviously, bar a miracle.lol

Yes, because B-52 bombers are such a threat to any air defense network worth its salt.

These flights are a prime example of political posturing, as are Chinese naval ventures off Alaska and US spyplane flights near the Chinese mainland. Nothing more, nothing less. Make a movie out of it if you wish but we'll leave that to the senationalists.

Not a threat?

The B-52 can carry 20 AGM-86C cruise missiles

When CHina announced the line and asked airliners to ask CHine to enter the ZOne, B52 bombers were sent to the area and did the flight. Seems like sending b52 means, Catch me if you can...:bunny::yahoo:

when were the US ships escorted by PLAN ships ? please show a photo of that happening

no, but apparently you are too stupid to read the article that clearly states US bombers completed their mission without facing any obstacles from PLAAF

I am not talking about future , a lot can happen in the future

Yup, you are definitely not bright enough to understand the strategic implications of China's military constructions.

You're right, a lot can happen in the future. China's goal is to first built civilian infrastructure so it can hold workers so it can move onto build military facilities. Militarising those islands is the primary goal of China so China can station its air defences and PLAAF fighters and bombers to extend China's military reach in the SCS. It will be like Hainan island. That's the goal of China and the US knows it. Unless the US can stop China's construction by destroying it now, these patrols do nothing from China extending its military reach in the very near future (2 years max).

China can station its current and future air assets such as bombers, fighters, transport which solves the main problem of dominating the SCS. China no longer needs to deploy its military assets from the mainland itself but now from these islands to escort foreign threats.

All the US can do is patrols, which doesn't stop China from militarising those islands and achieving its strategic objective.

Once China has stationed all its weapons on those islands, it becomes impossible for the US to destroy them as that will be deemed an unprovoked military strike on China and result in a war. The US don't have the balls to go to war with China. China has checkmated the US.

Sending a military aircraft into the region for so called freedom, and ask others don't militarise the area? What kind of logic is this.
Also, what's the point of this operation?
1. Showing that they are the boss and no one can challenge them?
2. Show the puppy around that the big brother is behind them?
3. Try to push China to militarise the islands so can prove Chinese always have that intention?

no apparently you are too stupid to comprehend what you said in the first part , and then what I responded with
maybe read again , and comprehend better

plus I asked to show me evidence of US ships being escorted by Chinese Navy

The B-52s would be navigating in a region peppered with early warning radars. If the air defense networks on Guam can detect missile-laden H-6 bombers, one can bet the same relationship holds true with B-52s and China.

ever heard of B-52s carrying cruise missiles?

Yes; I presume you've also heard of a wonderful thing called radar.
