US ambassador ‘pleased’ after treatment at hospital in Islamabad

What would be the best hospital in Pakistan in terms of facilities and modernity ? I think it would be Agha khan followed by shifa.

Agha khan's medical university and hospital both are world class and is highly recommended even in USA . Shaukat Khanum would also be great .

Shifa International hospitals in Islamabad is also great like agha khan but then treatment is expensive. Sahukat khatum is for cancer just like nori(nuclear medicine oncology and radiotherapy institute )

Pakistan is overpopulated country so you have more patients and less hospitals/doctors

Seems he is attack by Islamabad pollen :cray:.... What kind of infilimiation ?
I wish all citizens of isl, pindi, and surroundings gettogether to replace "Paper Mulberry trees" with non allergic ones
Pollen Allergy starts in March and is over before the end of April. As a pollen allergy sufferer I understand it very well. US ambassador cannot not have pollen allergy. Your idea of replacing paper mulberry trees is an excellent idea. Only if CDA were to act on it..

well it's one thing to get treated for a minor illness in Pakistan it's another wanting to get open heart surgery in Pakistan.

you want the best of the best and the UK and US offer the best.

take for instance Hugo Chavez he had cancer instead of going to the US or UK to get treated he went to Cuba instead and you see what happened to him.

You may, but you also get stuck with doctors who are avoiding lawsuits all the time which costs patients lives.

"MILD INFLAMMATION" and Complex, Open Heat Cardiac Surgery are two VERY different animals. Pakistan doesn't have new, specialized Heart - Lung machines. This hospital actually has a higher death rate than top UK and US cardiac institutes. I am saying this with knowing at the LEAST 10 death that occurred there during Cardiac surgeries. There is a reason even Mushy, Zardari, IK and others go to the UK for medical treatment. Once the CPEC goes live, and the income starts to come out, may be more money towards getting the latest tech in cardiology can be brought into Pakistan. But right now, they are behind.

The PM's closest and best option before going too far would've been India. But obviously, many people would've had an issue with him if he went there. So let a sick person get treated as he wishes too. You people cry so much about these stupid things.

Perhaps you should have considered the fact that it was the prime minister of Pakistan who was going to get the CABG and thus would have received top medical services from top medical professionals who have performed dozens of CABG procedures in their professional practice.......the extremely rare occurrences that you speak of, and unheard of on this side, could potentially have been by younger/inexperienced doctors and for extremely critical cases.

Do you even know that Pakistani Doctors are considered best in their fields as they have better clinical experience and harsh conditions and depleted resources to use with and still they do the best.

King Hussain of Jordan went to Mayo clinic for treatment of Lymphatic cancer, what happened to him?
You ignorant American, there is no cure for death, it catches you when it's your time regardless who you are and where you are.

this isn't about affordable healthcare it's about getting the best treatment for a major illness.

It's about how many you can spend .. Agha Khan hospital is the only hospital that's using neuro robotic exoscope tech and many other world class technologies after USA ..

SK (memorial/charity) is again a world class cancer hospital etc ...
But it all boils down to $$..
A poor guy who can't afford to check a checkup at such facilities will always get screwed at a govt or private clinic.

Do you even know that Pakistani Doctors are considered best in their fields as they have better clinical experience and harsh conditions and depleted resources to use with and still they do the best.

Ironically Pak is the 4th largest source of doctors for USA .. The largest for Gulf nations etc ... And yet in our own country ....

It's called brain drain & lack of opportunities.. Nobody wants to study for almost a decade and get paid 15-25k at a shitty govt hospital.

When my post is read in the correct context and in response to the post against which it was posted, you would realize that I was actually defending Pakistani doctors and promoting Pakistan over UK for medical treatment in the case of PM.

The ignorance in this thread shows no one here has been to CMH,MH Rawalpindi or AFIC if you are talking about heart conditions specifically. It ranks amongst one of the top institutions in heart related interventions in the world.
I believe its just the "unchi dukan" syndrome which most of our elites are a patient of.

Again ignorance is speaking. Do you know what an average doctor is getting. 15-25k is for starters when you are doing house job and Residency. After that limitless. Personally I know countless doctors who are making millions monthly. But that doesn't mean everybody is making that much. Your luck also depends.

Ok .. So than why is your community protesting all the time ? What's up with the young doctors association and their antics ? Why moan over low salaries etc?

Why cant Nawaz Sharif be tread in Pakistan? If he is the leader of the country, he should have got his treatment in the country. that would have inspired confidence.

Its a legitimate question to ask why there is not a hospital in Pakistan that could treat the emperor? After all its their 6th govt in Punjab and health is a provincial portfolio.

Now dont tell me ti have sympathy for him. That he is paying expenses from his own pocket. The problem is the leadership and its quality that the country lacks.

For the time of his treatment in foreign hospital, the country is without a PM. This is not a opposition demand. Its a constitutional requirement that if the PM is ill, he should relinquish his post. But then asking him to resign is asking for too much. He and his type of leaders bleeding the country white dont get the seat of power to resign.
