Here is an update on our fight against ISIL:

A proposed resolution by President Obama has been sent to the U.S. Congress asking for legislature approval of the use of force against the terrorist group ISIL. As you already know, we are—and have been—using our military force against ISIL so this resolution will lay the groundwork for legal authorization. You can read the full details of the resolution at the link below, however we wanted to clarify one of the main questions on everyone’s mind – whether this resolution would allow “U.S. boots on the ground.”

On that issue, President Obama explains that, “The resolution we’ve submitted today does not call for the deployment of U.S. ground combat forces to Iraq or Syria. It is not the authorization of another ground war like Afghanistan or Iraq. The 2,600 American troops in Iraq today largely serve on bases. And yes, they face the risks that come with service in any dangerous environment, but they do not have a combat mission.”

Too little too late... just don't throw wranch in Jordan's assault.
If want to help, cut the supply lines of ISIS, and Asad.

Removal of asad regime must be part of any long or short term plan. One bacuse he has butchered and raped far more people than isis has..and secondly because he is the root of this evil.no one will accept any peace until he is in power...war will continue so will isis. Finish the war to finish isis..

ehh, I rather take out ISIL and keep Assad in power to keep people in check. remove Assad and replace him with a weak leader and you'll have Iraq all over again.

the US should be backing Assad not fighting against him.

Problems in iraq started or were amplified in syria..

Asad supply lines are guarded by ISIS... this is their whole purpose.
When enough people are dead in Syria, ISIS will evaporate in thin air.

Problems in iraq started or were amplified in syria..

In between, we have thriving ISIS :undecided:

I suppose some people would require clarification, but it was sort of obvious. Obama didn't leave Iraq only to be pulled back in full force, he's resisted republican pressure to send in ground forces for a long time, nothing is going to change the position.

Arti As well as air support should be provided by u.s forces, else it is not going to end and today or tomorrow NATO boots will touch iraqi soil in thousands.
