The BrahMos is not an invincible missile. It is just a bigger headache for the ones at the receiving end of it. With a decent SAM system, you may be able to defend your shipagainst attacks by subsonic missiles. But to defend yourselffrom the BrahMos, you need an expensive, high-end, layered missile defense system. If you have powerful and networked Air Defense systems like the US Navy and the Royal Navy, you have a chance of survival. But smaller navies using basic air defense systems don’t stand a chance. Their only hope is prayer. So if you’re a warship captain, it’s always safer to be on the side which has BrahMos/Yakhont than to be on the side whichhas to face the BrahMos. By your bad luck if you end up facing the BrahMos, prayer is another option.

Lol, now China and Pakistan possess the cheap knock off brasmos with Russia transfer the blueprint to China.

I wish the Pakistani and Indian members of this forum realise that the U.S. and Russia are not allies in any way or form. They are suppliers of wars. Most of the military equipment around the world originated in these two countries, and the only thing that matters to them is their own dominance, both militarily and politically. The U.S. is shifting its position to nudge out Russia from India. Has anyone wondered why this sudden change and willingness to help and assist in all things possible? It is the same reason why the U.S. allied itself with Pakistan and any other country in history; to meet its own objectives. That's it. The U.S. has been picking off Russia's weaker allies like Syria, and has been getting close to stronger allies like India. This is not because a sudden new found admiration for India, but for extending their strategic depth in the Indian Ocean. This will leave Russia with one less ally and keep China even more occupied with their southern neighbour.
Remember when Iran was a close ally of the U.S.? Or Pakistan? When the U.S. sold their top line military equipment to these countries. When Pakistan and the Afghans were seen as heroes in their media? Now look at what their relationship has morphed into after their usefulness to the U.S. has reached the expiry date. To keep this in context, we will stand by for many more Indian characters in future movies and T.V. shows released by the U.S., even if some of them are token appearances. This is a regular tactic used to align public opinions with political agendas.
If I was an Indian, I would be very sceptical of U.S. and keep the tried and tested allies close rather than cosying up to a country that has a history of using and discarding allies. Of course it's always beneficial to have good relations with dominant countries, but not at the expense of existing allegiances. It's not a martial relationship that you fly off the handle every time something you don't like happens, but with adequate analysis of developments, and strategic thinking, things can go your way both in the short run and the long term.
But india is not a midget nation like Syria, Iran and Pakistan India is worlds 7th largest country by land and 2nd largest country by population.
We have strong economy and in coming years india will become 3rd largest economy in the world. So even if us leaves india we can survive on our own unlike other countries :)

No India need US for economy to grow, India lay out the red carpet for Obama because India dire need of money and jobs.

Did I ever said it is a superior tech ? Yes it is a difficult technology-more countries have mastered miniature gas turbines than liquid fuel ramjets.
.

Read the posts above you....you'll see cry babies complaining about how "superior" this tech was apparently.

It is,when compared to short range subsonic CMs in terms of kinetic energy, maneuverability.

It is not when compared to long range subsonic CMs in term of range and cost.

Just like any other weapon system,Brahmos has got its own advantages & disadvantages

Not everything, but pretty much close for us to guesstimate the entire specs, so it can largely increase our chance to intercept it.
Are you serious? India need a 3rd nations involve in develop the sensor and avionics for Brasmos missiles?

But thguys in our R&D are not thatvdumb
like you.

Indian avionics and slightest Israel.

You know what the fifth fleet is for?

never stopped any Indian members from mocking any Chinese tech, so......
i dont give a f*** regarding the article... just leak it who is the chick in your profile pic? :p

.
It wont be easy, but yet again it depends on the information the leaks contained . The information could be very promising or very irrelevant

Most important is what kind of guidance it use and how to jam it.

Shit! That means BRAHMOS technology will be available to Pakistan soon? Damn!! This really sucks! :hitwall:

If the news is true then that tech is already available to Pakistan. :D

BRAHMOS is not something exclusive technology like nukes which can be and must be protected. Many countries have cruise missile technology and its being upgraded everyday. By the time China understands it and develops many new versions of BRAHMOS would have come by that. Personally I doubt the veracity of the news because such an act on part of Russia will undermine her position and self respect as a nation. Given their stature, Russia would rather like to sell the technology openly by requesting or influencing India rather than resorting to such tactics. Leaking or stealing technologies befit the nations like North Korea, Pakistan etc. and definitely not Russia.

China is ahead in missile tech and Indian brahmos is not special if you compare them with YJ-12 & 18s, China already have hyper sonic & laser weapons in field tests where does India stand?? India needed Russia to help built supersonic CM China did it alone (by hook or crook) as they are heavily sanctioned by west, while India enjoy full cooperation and TOT from west to counter China.
