UP police officer rapes 21-year-old woman; FIR filed after court's order

The 21-year-old woman alleged that she was raped by three men including a UP Police officer Arun Kumar, who is in-charge of Katai Mill police outpost in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.

Two other persons have also been named in the FIR for raping the victim in Bareilly district on Wednesday.
According to a report in PTI, the case against the accused has been filed on Tuesday night after a court-ordered filing of the FIR.
The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Piyush Siddharth ordered a case against Arun Kumar on the basis of the statement of the girl. The woman approached the court after no action was taken by the police on her complaint. The victim alleged that she was gang-raped by three men on August 21 this year.

In a similar incident, a teenage girl alleged that four persons including an Army jawan raped her in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. The girl was allegedly raped on November 29, but the FIR in the case was filed on December 7 after the girl's father met Auriya SP to file a complaint.
The police initially did not file an FIR in the case and the girl's father met the SP to file the case. The victim named four persons in the FIR including an Army jawan and his brother.
Police had filed a case under sections of rape, criminal intimidation, robbery and wrongful confinement against the four accused. According to police, the incident took place when the girl was on her way to a coaching institute at 2 pm on November 29. She was abducted by four men in an SUV. The survivor alleged that the accused took turns to rape her for two hours. She was later dumped at an isolated spot.
