UAE has completed the placing of a THAAD battery territory. This is an American air defense missile. According to a report by Bellingcat.

According to the report THAAD battery was installed with radar AN / TPY-2. The system will work in synchronization with a Patriot PAC-3 and Hawk batteries that are placed in. Integration is done under the concept of system protection layers.

The transaction was carried out in 2011. The system began to reach the United Arab Emirates in 2015. Recall that the radar system is part of a global early warning system of US missile.

In another report of Tacticalreport argued that the UAE is seeking to acquire submarines. Such reports have been increased in recent years around the acquisition of German submarines. Nevertheless, the United Arab Emirates also has good security relations with France, and therefore, if and when, also there is the alternative of DCNS.

The UAE is also planning to buy a helicopter carrier.

The UAE wants to expand its naval capabilities in order to secure its interests in the Indian Ocean and near the island of Socotra, which it has leased from the Yemeni government for the next 100 years. (It's a de facto annexation, in reality.)

Any credible sources? No press tv I hope.

No need for an aircraft carrier, to be honest.

A helicopter carrier is more than enough for the UAE to quickly respond to security threats in places like southern Yemen and the horn of Africa.

The helicopter carrier will most likely be docked in Socotra. Bear in mind that the UAE is going to establish an overseas military outpost in Somaliland, and it already has one in Eritrea.

The UAE's long-term goal is to become the leading power in the Arabian Peninsula. It wants to carve a sphere of influence in southern Yemen and quietly acquire/annex the island of Socotra.

The UAE's regional objectives run directly against Qatar's. While Qatar promotes Islamism across the MENA region in the form of the Muslim Brotherhood, the UAE is trying to promote anti-Islamist movements across the region. This is mainly born out of pragmatism since the UAE views Islamism as a serious threat to the UAE's tourism industry and relatively open/liberal cosmopolitan/globalized society.

Submarines and a helicopter carrier are more than enough.

By the way, Qatar's going to have a helicopter carrier of its own. In fact, last summer, the Qataris signed a deal with an Italian ship manufacturer to purchase a small helicopter carrier similar to the one that the Algerian navy currently has.

Didn't we just agree that you wouldn't comment on the UAE?

does uae buy weapons from israel?
Secretly, the UAE buys many things from Israel, especially hi-tech-related stuff.

As for Israeli weapons, the UAE probably has a few deals with Israel for its indigenous drone program.

According to Ronen Bergman, Israel sold Iran US$75 million worth of arms from stocks of Israel Military Industries, Israel Aircraft Industries and Israel Defense Forces stockpiles.
