Uniforms for Frontier Corps

As Pakistan Army has got its new military uniform as camouflage uppers and pants now its is also in air that the Frontier Corps may also get its dress changed soon. Frontier Corps used to wear its non customary uniform in British days and then it changed that to black long Asian qamees shirts and bagee shalvar pants, which was further changed to khaki qamees and shalvaar, used till date. Now to make the uniform changed to some form of western type pantaloons will mean to alter the total attitude and basic characteristic of the force.
If their dress is to be changed at all means then camouflaged kamees shalvar will be the best option. Moreover, the personal equipments and dressing materials are regularly provided by the government to the force but the provision to individuals is not managed and monitored as to be done in regular forces.

In FC-1 frontier corps Pushtonkhwa and FCB frontier corps balouchistan they wear shalwar kameez only 2 days a week,friday and saturday rest days they wear a choco n sand colored camo.

Well am not sure about FC Balochistan, but the FC in NWFP is for the time using the Khaki Shalwar Kamees, while decision to revert back to the old Black (Militia Color) Shalwar kamees was taken last year and many officers have started to wear them.

No trousers and shirts for the FC NWFP so far, except the FC Special Forces, who wear shirt & trousers of some dark gray and black camo.

sorry to mention this i could not resist myself from speaking do you people think salwar kameez is a good uniform? i mean that makes no sense at all
there should be some standard atleast.

whats wrong with our national dress & moreover i think people from those areas prefer that dress

There is a standard in the Shalwar Kamees uniforms.

And it is a very good decent and graceful uniform when worn.

And most importantly, it is as per the traditions of the tribal area, as Shalwar Kamees is the traditional dress in those areas, FC being a tribal area force, composed of tribals, makes perfect sense.

well if that is the case regiments hailing from my area should be made to wear dhoti/langot/payjama and a kurta
what i mean is in combat condition this can prove to be a hindrance in swift and speedy movements and more over can not act as an equipment to make your self even partially invisible from enemy sight.

With that shawlwar kamiz they are doing excellent job in FATA Pakistan. No soldier ever complained about Shalwaar Kamiz. If the soldier are happy the generals are happy the people are happy why should we complain.

Good point brother but it is not about the soldiers complaining the soldiers never complain it is the authorities who are responsible soldiers should be representable to some extent this is like a night suit no offence i think i should stop before i wage a flame war.

I wear that night suite every morning And they are paramilitary. Most of there duties don't include high movements like SF. Neither they are suppose to play mechanized infantry rule. And the way they wear shalwar kamiz is not uncomfortable at all. They dont wear long taliban style shawlwar kamiz. Its short and with the belt it almost become just like Shirt trouser. And anyway as you see they also have shirt trouser in one of the above pic.

That choridar pajama is what girls wear in Pakistan...Shalwar kameez is what men wear.....and dhoti is what janglis or uncivilised people in Pakistan wear.

Shalwar kameez is more comfortable(unlike what indian men are used to) its doesnt make any hinderance like tight pants etc.

but still i feel the same the representability issue is still there.
i can well imagine you wearing that dress when i first saw the pak rangers wearing those black dresses and patrolling i literally started laughing.
