Manipuri folk has always maintained the worship of the dragon, the Dragon Boat Festival every year ;they eat dumplings, keep dragon boat race custom. In eighteenth Century, the king because of personal preference forced Manipuri to Hinduism, but encountered strong resistance, Hinduism has never really become Manipuri folk faith and worship of the dragon is still preserved in various forms in Manipur.

The Manipure "country" emblem, needless to explain it, like six star red flag, saturated with Manipure people's yearning of China, the motherland, and three hundred years of resentment and tragic enslaved history.

Manipure's Army has name called the people's Liberation Army, fully same as Chinese Army, not only is the abbreviation of Peoples Liberation, full name is too, the people's Liberation army!

Warning!
This flag, as well as other fictitious flags, is fictitious or proposed but not adopted. This flag is named as it would be an official flag of a national or subnational entity, and probably has some visual elements that are similar to official logos or coats of arms of certain entity, such as colors or some symbol, but they are NOT official and don't have any official recognition.

Hey Einstein,
Lemme tell you my part of story now.
I went to East Sikkim , Chengey Senti , to be precise last year , its a small village .. roughly 2 hrs drive from Darjelling.
I went there for a 10 day Meditation course.
Lemme tell you my Itinerary .
Train from Punjab to New delhi domestic terminal (T -1 D) , got a spice jet flight from there for Sikkim (Costed me 1450 Rs , if you are interested). No body at the airport asked me why was I going to Sikkim , let alone asking for a "Permit" to travel within my own country.
During teh course I met a couple of cool German dudes , they never mentioned of any permit etc.
I could not finish the course as it was very hard and wanted to leave (Vipassana Meditation , again if you are interested)
I was basically told if I walk staraight up the road I will find a taxi which will bring me to Silliguri , now Chengey senti bieng a small village , i found no taxi , I had to waive a motorbike to give me lift where I could find a taxi. Conversed with him in fluent Hindi (although he had an accent ).. Genuine guy , no communication problem. Talked with him in about Sikkim ,Sikkimese women , education , corruption , hospitals eyc . they were happy being a part of India , when asked why so much Army , he said coz of F****** Chinese.
I shiite you not , thats what he said!!!
Moral of teh story - dont believe you read everything on the Internet!!
End of lesson.

Blasts in Assam, Manipur on Independence Day
PTI New Delhi, August 15, 2013 | UPDATED 17:41 IST

Bomb blasts in Assam and Manipur marred an otherwise peaceful Independence Day celebration across India on Thursday that also saw Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi take on the prime minister and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah voice unhappiness over the "different treatment" meted to his state.

In Goa, a man chose the occasion to swim across the Mandovi river to demand a halt to mushrooming casinos in the coastal state.

Suspected Bodo militants tried to disrupt the Independence Day celebrations in Assam by triggering a blast in Tengapara of Kokrajhar town, injuring one person. Police recovered another grenade from the same location. A grenade was recovered at Bijni in Chirang district, while four motorcycle-riding youths lobbed a grenade in Chirang, but it did not explode.

In Manipur, a bomb blast marred the celebrations as Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh appealed for peace in the state. No one was injured in the explosion.

Insurgent activities saw a rise in Manipur
Official sources said more than 30 militant groups have been operating in trouble-torn Manipur for four decades

Press Trust of India | Imphal
December 26, 2013
Last Updated at 09:15 IST

Insurgent activities saw a rise in Manipur in 2013 even though nearly 200 militants surrendered and over 20 were killed by security forces.

The erection of wooden fencing at undemarcated border areas with Myanmar was also a concern for the state government. Various social organisations and political parties along with state government appealed to the Centre to take up the issue with the Myanmar government.

The year also witnessed several seizure of illegal drugs while smugglers were trying to take them out to Myanmar.

The biggest seizure was when an Army Colonel Ajay Choudhury posted as the Defence PRO in Imphal and five others were arrested by Manipur Police for allegedly ferrying drugs, estimated to be worth between Rs 15-30 crore, to the Indo- Myanmar border.

More than 15 bombs were planted by militants at roadsides and various other places to attack police and central paramilitary forces but no casualty was reported.

Militants also hurled grenades and bombs at houses of businessmen in connection with their monetary demands although no money was paid to them.

Altogether 197 militants belonging to different organisations surrendered before Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh at a function during which Ibobi Singh repeated his appeal to other rebels to lay down arms.

Official sources said more than 30 militant groups have been operating in trouble-torn Manipur for four decades now.

While small groups life Kuki National Front, Kuki National Army and some Naga militants want disintegration of Manipur to form small states along the ethnic lines, major groups like United National Liberation Front, Kanglei Yawol Kann Lup, People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak and Kangleipak Communist Party have been fighting for an 'independent Manipur' for what they called having "forcibly merged" with the union of India in 1949.

Seven officials of Irrigation and Flood Control including five senior engineers were kidnapped by suspected Kuki militants while they were returning after inspecting a project in Imphal east district on August 3. They were freed two days later.

The OP article uses fake photos from other countries or regions, they are not even from Manipur.

The 2nd and 8th photo of soldiers marching and girls playing the drum are from Myanmar, not Manipur.

The 4th and 5th photos of the little girls waving the flags are Vietnamese girls in VN.

The 6th pic shows Naxalite maoists from a different region. There are no Naxalites in the Manipur region.

The 7th pic shows Nepalese Maoists from Nepal, not Indian.

Whoever wrote that article, can't even find a single photo of people in Manipur waving that flag so he had to use fake photos from different countries.
