Because at that time Ukranians were fighting for Soviets not Germany.

Ukraines not going to invade Russia, nor need to. They don’t have the capability anyway.

Ukraine never had any capability. It was always the NATo which was fighting this war from Uraine's back.

Ukraine/NATO will invade and balkanize Russia in the next few months.

This is the only way NATO can get their hands on Russian Gas and other natural resources.

the thing is Russia cant throw its full weight into the fight because its a special military operation and as such cannot ask for reserves

this is why Chechnya, Syria, Iran and North Korea are helping with men + missiles

if Russian decided to call it a war and mobilise all those Lada factories will be making T90 tanks on mass

millions of Russian troops will be in the fight and the Soviet Steam roller will crush everything and anything in its path

however things maybe about to change

if the summer belongs to Ukraine the Winter always belongs to Russia

They don't need that many men. In modern warfare technology trumps flesh. A few squadrons of armed MALE drones can wipe out hundreds of tanks within a month. Considering Ukraine only had about 200 tanks, those don't last long with armed MALE drones around.

the whole drone issue is overrated yes at the start the TB2 did great things and the photos proved it

but later Russian managed to work out the jamming and almost all drones are jammed and last only a few hours

drone kills dropped of by end of May and even now Ukraine is not able to get even mini drones in the air for long due to Russian jamming

HIMARS GPS signals cannot be se easily jamming but Russia is having some success and in coming weeks I believe they will find a solution

what killed the Russians is the HIMSRS destruction of the ammo dumps + infrastructure like bridges not drones

Russia did not under estimate Ukraine but Russia under estimated the power of the US & NATO.

Too much cheerleading man. Russians are not total idiots and must have known that NATO will help Ukraine with weapons. Putin at start of war admitted Russia cant face conventional might of all of NATO, a hint that he relies on nukes against NATO. What Russians really underestimated was the ukranian will to fight. They believed they can beat ukranians even with NATO weapons help.
Xi and Putin are meeting and most probably putin will ask for help. Upto china to decide outcome of the war. I think china will not help much.

China use Iran as middleman. China export military hardware to Iran. Iran then donates to Russia. That way China will not get sanctioned by the US.
