UAE Extends Travel Ban on Pakistan

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended the travel ban on flights coming from Pakistan and thirteen other countries till 21 July 2021.


According to a notice issued by UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the inbound flights from fourteen countries will be suspended till 21 July amidst the coronavirus pandemic.


GCAA in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on Sunday, notified about the suspension, adding that the cargo, business, and charter flights are exempted from the travel ban.

Here are the fourteen countries facing UAE’s travel ban till 21 July:

1. Pakistan
2. India
3. Liberia
4. Namibia
5. Sierra Leone
6. Democratic Republic of Congo
7. Uganda
8. Zambia
9. Vietnam
10. Bangladesh
11. Nepal
12. Sri Lanka
13. Nigeria
14. South Africa

Earlier on 19 June, Dubai announced to ease travel restrictions from 23 June for travelers who in the last 14 days had visited India, Nigeria, and South Africa.

Pakistan in a medium to long term plan should start reducing its labourer export to ME. Atleast the reliance on the ME in all spheres should be reduced. Like I said, let's leave what is hidden hidden. UAE isn't the only country which has conveyed concerns in the past couple of months. In fact, the Pakistani government itself had disallowed foreign and domestic airlines from flying quite a few routes. Pakistani awam will remain Pakistani awam.

I'm aware. I was sent on a deployment to Abu Dhabi for 2 months recently. Been through it.
