No mention has yet been made as to how many troops will be sent or when they will arrive.

The National Security Council (NSC) has said it has approved the UAE and Qatar proposal for forces to be deployed to Afghanistan.

In a statement released by the Afghanistan National Security Council (NSC) late Tuesday the council confirmed the UAE proposal to send special forces to Afghanistan under the Resolute Support mission to train, consult and support Afghan forces under the Afghan-NATO Security Agreement.

The statement did not mention anything about numbers of troops or when they would come to Afghanistan.

This comes after US commander Gen. John Nicholson last week announced that the UAE and Qatar wanted to send troops to Afghanistan.

“I'd say this is not just an American mission. There are 39 nations here. In fact, we have two more that have recently offered to join: UAE and Qatar,” said Nicholson.

And so these nations not only contribute troops; they contribute financially and they bring the legitimacy of a 39-nation coalition to keep pressure on these terrorist groups, he added.

Qatar is probably seen as a neutral party by both sides and will likely take control of an area/region where neither the government nor the Taliban want to fight. The Taliban embassy is based in Qatar after all.

Doesn't Qatar army comprise of expats from Nepal, india, Pakistan, etc?

If Qatar and UAE succeed who benefits? India and America. The Jihad must go on till expulsion of all foreign occupation forces.

Kabul approves UAE's offer to send troops to Afghanistan

Kabul has approved the United Arab Emirates' offer to send special troops to Afghanistan to join NATO's Resolute Support Mission.

The approval came during a meeting of National Security Council chaired by President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday.

The presidency in a statement said that NSC considered UAE’s offer to send special troops to Resolute Support Mission for training, advising and assisting Afghan forces according to the security agreement between Afghanistan and NATO and approved it.

UAE and Qatar’s move to contribute to RS mission came during NATO’s defense ministerial meeting in Brussels in November last year.

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg had welcomed the move saying they have capabilities and knowledge, and that their presence is a strong symbol of global support for Afghanistan.

39 nations couldn't do anything then what we should expect from these two countries ?? It's just a waste of resources -- no one is serious about Afg prob --

Corruption is sky high -- army is poorly trained with 1000 army generals -- parliamentarians are criminals, war lords, involved in drug trafficking & so on... Only USA can fix the system but it's not willing to exert pressure or to use force to correct the flawed system -- talibans aren't going anywhere until & unless the govt + it's institutions do not perform..

USA & her allies just want to stay there -- they're not serious about anything else...afg puppet govt is also useless -- they're only good at blame game -

blaming others for their own failures isn't going to help to reduce the attacks or bring talis to negotiation table - it only gives an opportunity to brainwashed Afg citizens on twitter & f.b to talk about something --
