U.S. owes India apology over strip-search : CNN

News coming in that all VIP passes and ID cards have been removed from American Counsolor diplomatic . Now stand in the sun just like the rest of us ...

BTW CNN is the known mouth piece of the US Govt. so something positive may be coming up ...

Indians should just be like us, you know why we are like this with the US?

When we played nice with them, they bombed our embassy in yugoslavia, and a bunch of other crap.

Now that we are actively in their face and defying everything status quo the US setup, they are surprisingly silent.

The US doesn't respect weakness, you got to be in their face to get that respect.

India will never be on an American map until you actively promote your own interests, don't think for a second, the US will thank you for doing favours for them, they will only consider it a weakness and think you are inferior and got no other choice.

China, Pakistan most obvious examples.

You are right .US only know the words of strength.I dont know about Pakistan. But they oppose china because PRC is only country that can directly confront against US even in limited way.We Indians try maximum to stay away from the map of US.Because they may try any method to neutrilse a proud country that against them.Early decades it is USSR ,now PRC.They dont concentrate against India because China.

@Genesis India can't be like China. Reason being ?

India has weak leaders.

A strong leader with weak policies can do much better wok than a weak leader with strong policies.

India can have strength only if we have strong leader.

We are doing it in our current capacity. We are building ourselves and will stand strong once we are fully capable of.

China has done it and indians really appreciate that.

Imagine someone coming into your home and calculating what you're paying a housekeeper or nanny or gardener by the hour, when you're paying them a flat rate for the day. I know friends who have live-in nannies, and those baby sitters are essentially on-call around the clock. They're probably making less than minimum wage as well, but with room and board thrown in.
Not at all a bad point to make. However, the columnist doesn't really know what his friends' domestics are being paid.

A spokesman says that Khobragade was treated just like anyone else. That's the problem. Khobragade is not just like anyone else -
The linked article has been edited and now doesn't contain this quote and so the opinion piece heads downhill from there.

Besides, she is not a violent criminal or a terror suspect, and she doesn't appear to be a threat to public safety.

If there is a labor law violation here, it would a civil crime, not a criminal offense.

That's right.

It is a civil offence, not a criminal offence. Most likely a misunderstanding over wages in different countries.

And in any case, she was never a "threat to public safety".

At least America seems to be admitting they are wrong in this case, which is better than usual.

She was apprehended for visa fraud....
Why was she stripped and searched in all cavities...

That's racist man..:nono:

That not being racist maybe in South Asian culture consider strip search while in the custody of the State is a form of racism. Racism in the US don't define in this way.

That could be the standard procedure for NYC. People could hide things any where in NY so they want to prepare for the worst. Its time for people to stop calling arrest of criminals as racism. And if she committed a crime, she is a criminal.

People like to play the race card too much nowadays.

They have used the word "regret" or so I read in Pakistani news media. I think an apology is just over the horizon. Then what? Will all the brown people forget what happened to a diplomat?
