ANKARA (Reuters) - The U.S. mission to Turkey said on Sunday it was reducing visa services after one of its employees was detained last week, saying it needed to “reassess” Turkey’s commitment to the security of its personnel.

Last week, a U.S. consulate employee in Istanbul was arrested on charges of links to a cleric blamed for last year’s failed coup, a move condemned by Washington as baseless and damaging to ties between the NATO allies.

“Recent events have forced the United States government to reassess the commitment of government of Turkey to the security of U.S. mission and personnel,” the statement by the mission in Ankara said.

“In order to minimize the number of visitors to our embassy and consulates while this assessment proceeds, effective immediately we have suspended all non-immigrant visa services at all U.S. diplomatic facilities in Turkey.”

The state-run Anadolu news agency identified the consulate employee as a male Turkish citizen and said he was arrested late on Wednesday on charges of espionage and attempts to damage the constitutional order and Turkey’s government.

U.S.-Turkish tensions have risen over U.S. military support for Kurdish YPG fighters in Syria, considered by Ankara to be an extension of the banned PKK, which has waged an insurgency for three decades in southeast Turkey.

Turkey has also pressed, so far in vain, for the United States to extradite Fethullah Gulen over the July 2016 putsch, in which more than 240 people were killed. Gulen denies any involvement.

The so called "USA" is angry because US founded terrorists are losing:

US Reacts To Ankara’s Idlib Operation: Restores Supplies To Al-Qaeda-Affiliated Groups, Suspends All Non-Immigrant Visa Services In Turkey
08.10.2017

The US has resumed its support to few Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups in Idlib governorate after 2 months of pausing it, the Syrian opposition news website Enab Baladi reported on October 8.

According to the report, the US Military Operation Center in Turkey, named by Turks “MOM”, resumed its support for Jaish al-Nasser in Idlib. Jaish al-Nasser is considered one of the main allies of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda).

However, the US didn’t resume its support for Jaysh al-Izza, another ally of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Idlib governorate.

The report claimed that the US paused its support to the FSA groups that refused to take part in the Astana talks and to the FSA groups that supported the HTS attack in the northern Hama countryside.

However, these claims are untrue as Jaish al-Nasser was the key HTS ally in its attack on the northern Hama countryside back in March not only Jaysh al-Izza.

Some Syrian opposition sources even claimed that both Jaysh al-Nasr and Jaysh al-Izza secretly supported the recent HTS attacks in the northern Hama countryside on September 19 and August 7.

The US decision to resume its support to some pro-HTS FSA groups in Idlib governorate could be linked to the millitary operation of the Turkish Army and the FSA in the governorate.

In a related development, the US embassy in Turkey announced in an official statement that the US suspended all non-immigrant visa services at all U.S. diplomatic facilities in Turkey. The US embassy claimed that an unspecified “recent events” have forced the US government “to reassess the commitment of the Government of Turkey to the security of U.S. Mission facilities and personnel”.

The US decision is likely another step in response to the upcoming Turkish military operation in Idlib governorate. The US decision can be considered as another evidence that the battle against HTS does not contribute to the US strategic goals in Syria.

This statement is the biggest joke I have ever read. The country which arms terrorists with explosives and weapons which are used in suicide attacks against Turkish civilians and attacks against Turkish soldiers whines about Turkey and Turks not giving a single thought about their safety and security. It's time to close every single base being used by this scum to them, close the airspace to american planes and ban americans from traveling to Turkey also don't allow them to pass through our waters. Every single american soldiers and citizen is to be kicked out of the country within 24hours.

Cards are unfolding; real faces of lots of countries are being shown. Thanks to right wingers in power; these countries used to be foes in friends costumes and they busted their own nicely laid traps.

Its exactly the same scenario unfolding for Pakistan, as US has opposed CPEC because it passes through disputed territory, while the UN resolutions are yet to be implemented, US cannot be trusted at any cost.
