U.S. Admits: We Can’t Protect Syrian Allies From Russia’s Bombs

United States is not ready to share intelligence outputs with Russian Federation regarding Syrian opposition and today Pentagon has issued the Statement. This means United States will protect Syrian opposition and the reason is quite simple as the Russians are openly assisting with President Assad , Iran and Hezbullah and even Grand Ayatullah Sistani of Iraq talked about joining against ISIS.
Protect how ? Ruski bombs will keep falling.

United States will not share intelligence which means Syrian opposition will be there .

Its all about numbers, equipment etc. No one knows which equipment Syrian opposition is having and what tactics the Syrian opposition will use against Russian troops.

Heck, Bashar Al-Assad really creates huge problem in this world.

Not just his fault. When the world was giving a sympathetic hearing to the rebels, they forgot to get the memo about what the rebels intended to do to the Ba'athists. The plan was, and remains, to kill them. With their backs to the wall, I don't see how the Ba'athists had much option except to keep fighting.

it's not about 'guts', it's about a nuclear threshold that nears quickly if ever the US get in a hot war with the Russians.

but they made it through the cold war, they'll manage through this too, in the end the US will have to back off here because why on earth are they supporting these horrible jihadists anyway ? I think most regular people in the US will be glad if Russia cleans up for them and they can get out of the middle east mess.

the Saudis and their terrorist proxy forces should have absolutely 0 say in whatever political compromise there might be in Syria.

the Saudis are responsible for this mess getting as bad at is has, they were responsible for 9/11, largely responsible for radicalizing so many in Pakistan and indeed around the world, it's their fascist ideology which is the fountainhead of almost all the terror in the world, I think Obama realizes that and is in a strategic retreat and disengagement with them now.

fsal qaeda days are numbered, may they all rest in piss.

As angry as your post sounds, I think it is close to reality. The Western World should not have intervened in Syria at all - nothing good was to come of it. That would have prevented Erdogan from getting the excuse he needed to help IS in the name of helping the rebels, and much of this wouldn't have come to pass.

But it was not entirely avoidable though, because with Iranian involvement, sooner or later Israel would get involved, and things would have turned nasty in any case.

As to why America is making the mistake of helping horrible jihadis - a foreign policy based on short term objectives masquerading as realpolitik tends to do that. But the same lesson holds true for Iran, Turkey, Russia and Saudi Arabia as well.

Aerial Bombings will not change things on ground and this would led to the civilian casualities and here only Russians will have hard time.
A intensified aerial bombing campaign can change things on the ground, yes. 20-30 strikes a day wont change much though.

Air strikes wont change much on ground if that would be the case then Syrian Airforce would have done the work but now the Russian troops are on Syrian soil which means Syrian Airforce cant do that.

ISIS are ex Iraqi Baathists and Iraqi Baathists do operate from Syria.

French President Francois Holland has told President Vladimir Putin that Moscow's airstrikes must be confined to attacking Islamic State militants, not other rebels opposing the Damascus government.

Allies in a US-led coalition that is conducting its own air campaign in Syria called on Russia to cease attacks on the Syrian opposition and to focus on fighting the Islamic State group. A joint statement by France, Turkey, the US Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Britain expressed concern that Russia's actions will "only fuel more extremism and radicalisation."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who also attended the meeting with Putin, added that the leaders "said very clearly that Daesh was the enemy that we needed to fight."

"We also said that we needed a political solution for Syria that should take into consideration the opposition's interests and that opposition has always had our support," she added.

Are you comparing Syrian airforce with Russian? Are you sane ? Since when does Syria have modern jets and surveillance capability ? Russia has the aerial ability to end this war only if it is serious and intensifies its campaign.

Why is gau8av banned?

Someone wanting to get him banned must have pointed out some minor thing he said that indirectly offends the Religion of Peace. There are too many things that can go wrong in this regard...

@ mods

Pakistan should join with Russia & China in Syria to make some quick money. Mercenary force could survive and will not surrender. They would get a chance to fight alongside big powers and will help them to learn few basic things.

Ironically, he did point out the export of Wahabbi fundamentalism from Saudi to Pakistan and the resultant radicalization in Pakistan.

U.S. Admits: We Can’t Protect Syrian Allies From Russia’s Bombs - The Daily Beast

- “We are not going to shoot Russian airplanes. We are not going to hit their airfields [in Syria]. And we are not going to equip [rebels] with MANPADs,””

Re-read the title you posted yourself......"Syrian Allies" aka, the Rebels!!! This isn't a US vs. Russia war. This mess is created and supported by the Jihadi lovers who don't want to show their face now, like KSA, and others.

The US had tried to provide support and training to fight the crazy ISIS terrorists. But if the government of Syria (apparently still in power), wants to invite the Russians, then we have no skin in the game anymore. Just don't cross the borders to the Western world. The Syrians really need to figure this out themselves!!!

According to @Abingdonboy ,USAF will decimate the RUAF and wipe the floor. And looking at the Daily Beast and the Congressman's rant ,it seems otherwise. Maybe the Donald Cook Incident shook the US forces sufficiently.

The USAF actually will decimate the Russian air-force with much lesser flying power in a short amount of time, like a week, and close to Russia to be precise. But, Russia has the largest stockpile of flash lights. Why does the entire world has to suffer due to some idiot's imagination on PDF??

The Syrian government is still in power obviously and it invited the Russians. Now all parties involved have to deal with the consequences of this invitation . The US / NATO need to protect allied borders and that's already being worked on.

You provided weapons to the gulf states who then provided it to Syrian rebels. You are responsible for this mess.

Do you think arabs can even make a pistol without help? No. Yet you geniuses provided these 'rebels' with 500M worth of advanced weapons due to your desire for control.

Now we are here cleaning your mess.
