Two Indian women living in China talk about their impressions after living in China and how different it was from their preconceived notions. Starting at 12:20 in the video. I think it's pretty clear how much the Indian media brainwashes their people to think China is backward, and to have hateful and racist attitudes towards Chinese people. Every time I watch a video from an Indian person who is living in China or traveled to China, they are usually very pleasantly surprised and impressed at how modern and wealthy China is, and how friendly the Chinese people are.

America has always been the strongly desired country.

Evident as such:
72 thousand Americans live in China.
3.8 million Chinese live in America.

There are a lot of reasons for that.

The world has been dominated by the Anglo empire for centuries. For most of that time, China was weak and backward. Of course, people would be migrating to the metropole and not some broken, impoverished empire.

Secondly, America is a land of immigrants. Immigrants built this country. It has also been very rich for many generations, thus its reputation is solidified in the global imagination. China has only recently become developed so in the minds of many people, it is still a poor and backward country even though in many ways, it is more developed than the West in certain areas nowadays.

Eventually, there will be more and more foreigners coming to live in China than there are now as it continues to rise.

Not to mention that China is very backwards in their practice of democracy also (and many other things).

This may be the biggest reason why it's largely unattractive to migrants.

erm...there have been thousands of chinese living in the u.s. since the cowboy days, their contribution in building the trans-continental railroad is well known. not to mention, "chinese" is not just a national identity, it is ALSO an ethnic group...you will find vietnamese citizens that are "chinese" in origin for example. Such is the the case through far east asia. so ther just cuz there are 3.8 million Chinese living in the u.s. does not mean they are from "China" the nation perse...

You must've gotten an American primary education, because that's exactly the underlying point.

America has always been accommodating to immigrants ever since its start, even with Chinese Exclusion and other anti-immigrant legislation.

Since the Chinese began being shipped to America in the 1800s, their population grew significantly. Of course, a lot of these Chinese aren't immigrants but rather "America-born Chinese".

If you start Communist China's history from 1949, you can easily find out they haven't actually been pioneers of immigration and democracy, and it seems that they won't ever be in the future.

You can do the math yourself, how many Americans in China will there be in 500 years time (which is 3 times the years that the Chinese have been in America), given there are currently 72,000 Americans (assume they breed within each other at a 0.75% rate (50% more rate than US population).

1,China doesn't want immigrants in the first place. Getting China's green card(permanent resident)is terribly hard, let alone Chinese citizen.
2, Most immigrants don't care democracy. I heard there are 2 million Koreans living in China. And 100-200 thousand Africans illegally stay China.

1. That's because China is a neighboring country to Korea and your boundaries have changed as recently as 70 years ago. That is not a matter of immigration.

2. So what? Whats wrong with Africans? As long as they are peaceful citizens, why should you bother?

America has always been a nation of Immigrates while China has never been. What exactly is your point?

1,"Koreans" here doesn't mean ethnic Korean minority in China. It means South Koreans citizens. Right. There are 2 million South Koreans citizens living in China. Xingdao city alone has 0.5 million South Koreans.
2. But China doesn't have democracy. Why they stay here illegally?

The thread is about an immigrant praising China, while by your own words: China has never been a land of immigrants.
