Two-Day Pakistan Mother Languages Literature Festival To Begin On Feb 18
February 17, 2017 Webdesk
To celebrate the United Nations day on mother languages, the second edition of the two-day Pakistan Mother Languages Literature Festival will be held at the Lok Virsa starting Feb 18th.
The primary objective of the festival is to promote and celebrate Pakistan’s linguistic and cultural diversity and to further promote reading in other languages that are prevalent in the country.
This year around, the two-day festival will include recitation of multilingual poetry, discussions over literature and launch books written in several languages, while screening of documentaries and films, as stated by the organisers during a press conference.
Organised by the Indus Cultural Forum (ICF), over 160 writers, critics, poets and artists from over 15 languages across the country are expected to discuss the diversity of the languages from a historical perspective.
Two halls at the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum have been renovated and will be opened ahead of the festival.
