US President is scheduled to visit India along with his wife Melania Trump later this month. The White House in its announcement said Trump will make the trip to "strengthen the United States - India strategic partnership. He will be visiting Gujarat and Delhi on his two-day visit.

The preparation for Trump's visit has grabbed headlines, and a wall is being built in Ahemdabad to hide slums from the sight of US President.

According to a report in Reuters, the contractor building the wall said the government "did not want the slum to be seen" when Trump passes by on the ride from Ahmedabad’s airport.

"I’ve been ordered to build a wall as soon as possible, over 150 masons are working round-the-clock to finish the project," the contractor said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Netizens and several political leaders have been criticising the construction of this wall and Twitter is flooded with some interesting tweets taking a dig at the present dispensation. Here is a collection of some of the tweets:

Don't know actually.

Nothing wrong with cleaning and a little bit face lift...but spending a Billion is too much fakery... could have built hospitals and schools..

Yes, sprucing up roads is commendable but the remainder of the money ( 80+ crores ) could have been used to build good-quality homes for the homeless and slum-dwellers ,and to build good-quality hospitals and schools like you said.
